Job Title: International Business Development Manager – Water & Wastewater Industry. Location: Wakad,Pune. Department: Sales & Marketing / Business Development Reports To: Director Job Purpose: To identify, develop, and manage business opportunities across international markets in the water and wastewater treatment industry. This role is focused on expanding the company’s global footprint, increasing revenue, and establishing long-term partnerships with clients, EPCs, consultants, and government agencies. Key Responsibilities: Market Expansion: Identify and develop new business opportunities in target international markets (e.g., Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe). Conduct market research and competitor analysis to develop market entry strategies. Explore new geographies, sectors, and strategic partnerships. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and EPC contractors. Understand client requirements and present appropriate technical and commercial solutions. Manage client communications, presentations, and negotiations. Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement international sales plans aligned with business goals. Meet or exceed sales targets through direct and channel-based strategies. Prepare and manage proposals, tenders, and pricing strategies in collaboration with technical and commercial teams. Project Coordination: Work with internal teams (engineering, project management, after-sales) to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Coordinate with third-party agents or representatives in different regions. Brand Promotion: Represent the company at international exhibitions, trade shows, and industry conferences. Enhance brand awareness and reputation in the target regions. Reporting & Forecasting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline status, and market intelligence. Provide regular updates to leadership on business development performance and market feedback. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies and markets International sales or business development experience, especially in industrial or infrastructure sectors Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Ability to work independently and travel internationally Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity Strategic thinking and analytical ability Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field 5–10 years of international business development experience in the water/wastewater or environmental sector Proficiency in English; additional language skills (Arabic, French, Spanish, etc.) are an advantage Preferred Experience: Prior experience dealing with municipal and industrial clients (e.g., power, pharma, textiles, F&B, Sugar) Familiarity with international tendering processes and government procurement Working with international consultants.
