Contract Duration:** 12 Months (with option to extend) Location: India / United Kingdom / Netherlands (100% Remote) Engagement:Contractor Start Date:As soon as possible Mode: Remote with overlap to EU/UK time zones Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) Developer to support an upcoming Request for Proposal (RFP) process and subsequently commit to the delivery of a full SAP GTS implementation project. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SAP GTS, hands-on development capability, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with business and technical teams across geographies. The successful candidate will play a critical dual role: 1. Pre-project phase:Provide technical input, solution recommendations, estimations, and documentation to support the RFP. 2. Project execution phase: Lead the technical build of SAP GTS components, integrations, and enhancements through go-live. Key Responsibilities * Provide expert SAP GTS insights, solution options, and technical feasibility assessments. * Participate in workshops and requirement-gathering sessions. * Prepare solution design inputs, technical estimations, and delivery approaches for the RFP response. * Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies in proposed solutions. * Support architecture discussions and integrate SAP GTS into the wider technology landscape (ERP/S4, logistics, compliance tools, customs systems, etc.). Project Delivery (Post-Award) * Lead end-to-end SAP GTS development including configuration, BAdI implementations, user exits, enhancements, and custom objects. * Work closely with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions. * Develop and maintain customs, compliance, and trade preference functionalities. * Implement interfaces between SAP GTS and SAP ERP/S4HANA using IDoc, RFC, BAPI, CPI, or PI/PO. * Conduct unit testing, support SIT/UAT, and participate in defect resolution. * Produce high-quality technical documentation and contribute to project governance. * Provide post-go-live hypercare support. * Ensure compliance with global trade regulations and corporate security policies. --- Required Skills & Experience * 8+ years of hands-on SAP development experience**, with a minimum *5 years in SAP GTS**. * Strong expertise in SAP GTS 11.0 / S/4HANA International Trade modules such as: * Compliance Management * Customs Management * Trade Preference * Sanctioned Party List (SPL) screening * Proficiency in **ABAP** development, including OO ABAP, enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, and custom function modules. * Experience with **integration technologies**: IDoc, BAPI, RFC, OData, SAP PI/PO, or SAP Cloud Integration (CPI). * Strong debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting skills. * Experience in large-scale SAP GTS implementations or upgrades. * Ability to work independently in a remote environment across multiple time zones. * Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting RFPs or pre-sales technical work. * Exposure to SAP S/4HANA implementation projects. * Experience with global trade compliance regulations and customs processes. * Certification in SAP GTS is a plus. * Prior experience in multinational project environments. Engagement Model * **100% remote working** with expected alignment to UK/EU working hours as needed. * Candidate must be able to commit to a **full 12-month contract** covering both the RFP phase and the project delivery phase. * Occasional travel may be requested (but not mandatory).
