Position: Sales Manager Edible Oils (Import/ Export) Location: Noida Department: Sales and Trading Reports to: Director Job Summary: The Sales Manager will be responsible for the import, export, stock management, and sales of crude palm oil (CPO) within the Indian market. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of the cost and freight trade, ensuring efficient procurement, logistics, and distribution of edible oils while maximizing profitability and market share. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of market dynamics, cost management, and regulatory compliance in the edible oils industry. Key Responsibilities: 1. Import & Export Management: Oversee the importation of crude palm oil (CPO) from international suppliers and ensure adherence to import regulations, customs, and tariffs. Coordinate export of crude palm oil to regions such as China, Africa, Germany, and the Middle East, ensuring all regional regulations, tariffs, and standards are met. Develop and execute export strategies for crude palm oil to various National markets. Coordinate logistics, shipping, documentation, and clearance processes for both import and export transactions. Work closely with suppliers and freight forwarders to manage stock levels and timely deliveries. 2. Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to grow market share in the edible oils industry within the Indian and international markets, including China, Africa, Germany, and the Middle East. Identify and target key markets. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners to ensure strong business growth and customer retention. Negotiate and finalize contracts with buyers and suppliers, ensuring favourable pricing and terms. 3. Cost and Freight Trade Management (CFR/CnF): Manage the cost and freight aspects of the business, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. Work closely with the finance team to monitor costs, track margins, and forecast financial performance. Provide transparent and accurate reports on inventory, sales, and financial performance. 4. Stock & Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of crude palm oil, ensuring stock levels meet demand while minimizing excess stock. Coordinate with warehousing teams for efficient stock movement, storage, and dispatch. Track stock movement and implement strategies for stock replenishment. 5. Market Research & Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry regulations to identify opportunities and potential risks. Provide insights to senior management on market developments and recommend actionable strategies. Regularly assess pricing, supply chain dynamics, and competitor strategies to stay ahead in the market. 6. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all imports and exports of crude palm oil comply with Indian food safety, quality standards, and international trade regulations. Liaise with customs, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to stay informed of changes in regulations that may impact the business. 7. Team Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams including logistics, finance, and operations to ensure seamless end-to-end processes. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of junior sales staff to enhance their skills and productivity. Key Skills and Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, trading, or management in the edible oils industry (experience with crude palm oil preferred). In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations, cost and freight (CFR) terms, and supply chain management. Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong understanding of the Indian edible oils market, including key players, competitors, and customer segments. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other relevant software tools. Knowledge of international trade, logistics, and shipping documentation. Manage and reconcile commodity trade accounts, ensuring accurate tracking of transactions and balances. Track and record transactions related to commodity trading, including purchase orders, sales contracts, and shipment invoices. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. Manage relationships with suppliers and customers regarding financial transactions, payment terms, and account reconciliations. Preferred candidate profile Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Several years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within commodity trading or FMCG industries. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret financial data and make informed decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage multiple tasks, and work under pressure.
