Website / WordPress Developer Location: Thiruvananthapuram Experience: 2–5 years (flexible for the right candidate) What you’ll do Design & build WordPress websites Plan, design, and develop WordPress-based websites using themes, child themes, page builders, and custom templates where needed. Implement clean, modern layouts with good typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy. Translate ideas into clean UI/UX Work from brand guidelines, content outlines, and rough wireframes to create polished web pages. Ensure designs are responsive , mobile-friendly, and usable across devices and browsers. Own the full website lifecycle Take accountability from requirement understanding → design → development → testing → go-live → post-launch fixes . Proactively identify gaps, edge cases, and improvements instead of waiting for instructions. Client & internal communication Discuss requirements, ideas, and feedback with clients and internal stakeholders in clear English . Explain technical constraints and options in simple language and propose practical solutions. Site performance & hygiene Ensure good page speed , basic on-page SEO structure, and intuitive navigation. Keep plugins/themes under control, avoid bloat, and follow best practices for security and updates. Continuous improvement Stay updated on modern web and WordPress trends, design patterns, and tools. Suggest new approaches, plugins, frameworks, or design systems to improve our overall web output. Must-have skills & qualities Strong experience in WordPress 2–5 years of hands-on experience designing and developing WordPress websites . Comfortable with themes, child themes, page builders (Elementor / Block Editor / similar), menus, widgets, forms, and basic configuration. Ability to tweak layouts with HTML, CSS , and basic JavaScript when needed. Strong taste for good design Clear sense of visual design (typography, color, spacing, alignment). Ability to look at a page, spot what feels “off”, and refine it into a clean, balanced layout. Preference for clean, minimal, user-friendly designs over clutter. Proactive & accountable Takes ownership of tasks and timelines – no hand-holding required . Spots issues early, raises them clearly, and suggests options rather than just pointing out problems. Comfortable working in a small team where everyone is responsible for outcomes , not just tasks. Communication skills (English) Good spoken and written English – able to speak directly with clients , understand their requirements, clarify doubts, and present work. Comfortable on calls, screen-shares, and giving simple walkthroughs of work done. Core web skills Solid knowledge of responsive design , cross-browser testing, and basic accessibility. Understanding of basic SEO structure (titles, meta, headings, alt tags, URL structure). Nice to have / Added advantages WordPress & design ecosystem Experience working with the Avada theme/framework (Fusion Builder) or similar premium themes. Ability to create or adapt design systems, style guides, and reusable sections/blocks. Modern content & headless tools Proficiency in Strapi or similar headless CMS / modern content technologies (e.g., Contentful, Sanity, headless WordPress). Interest in exploring new frontend/back-end combinations (e.g., using Strapi as backend with a modern front-end). Tools & analytics Experience with performance tools (PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, GTmetrix, etc.). Basic analytics setup (Google Analytics / GA4, Search Console). Domain & culture fit Prior work with SaaS, startups, agencies, or digital marketing teams .
