Perform all administrative work . To draft budget and policy proposals for the trade. Proposing & reviewing of budget, approvals for employee welfare etc. Calling exhibitors & Visitors for registrations in our all shows. To organize road show & Door to Door visit / Showroom visit to increase membership & exhibition participation & other various promotional activities in the region. Cost control through maximum utilization of available resources Compliance and maintenance of safety/security/operation standards, and ensuring implementation of companys norm. Handling team & guiding them in each assignment Identifying training need & arrangement of required training for Chennai staff Making strategy for promotion of exports. Revenue generation exhibitions, generating exports membership subscription etc. Identify and promote benefits of gems and Jewellery. Attending day-to-day trade queries with respect to MSME schemes, exports, imports regulations and policy matters. Key Responsibilities Testing and Identifying all types of gemstones and their synthetic and treated counterparts, using standard gemmological tools. Grading of polished diamonds (loose and mounted) on the basis of International System. Recording of all descriptive and gemmological data of gemstones using all gemmological instruments. Creation and upgradation of data bank on regular basis. Operation and analysis of samples on all available instruments, including advanced equipment such as FTIR, EDXRF, LRS, UV-Vis-NIR spectrometers, etc. (Training will be provided on using these instruments). Explaining technical details to clients addressing their concerns regarding a report / identification Providing all required information to the clients / visitors Maintenance of the instruments being used Additional Responsibilities Research on existing and new techniques of identification and publishing articles / papers on the basis of results drawn. Any other job assigned from time to time. Essential Qualification: Diploma in Gemmology and Diamonds from institutes like GIA (G.G), Gem-A (FGA) or equivalent . Essential qualification: Graduate in any stream Diploma in diamond grading from a reputed institute Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in complete grading of loose and mounted diamonds (4 Cs) as per GIA grading scale. Proficient in using various gemmological and grading tools like microscope, cut scanner, diamond screening machines for separating natural and lab-grown diamonds or non-diamonds. Grading experience in laboratory environment is preferred. Key responsibilities 1. Grading and Certification: Grade diamonds based on the 4Cs (Carat, Cut, Color, and Clarity) using international grading systems (e.g., GIA). Provide precise measurements of diamonds, including carat weight, table percentage, depth percentage, etc. Document findings and generate grading reports for each diamond or jewellery. Use microscopes, loupes, and other magnification tools to identify inclusions, blemishes, and any other internal or external features of the diamonds. Evaluate symmetry, polish, and fluorescence, noting any impact on the stone’s overall quality. 2. Data Entry and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all graded diamonds and jewellery in lab's database or grading system. Photography of the graded items. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of client information. 3. Calibration and Maintenance of Equipment: Regularly calibrate and maintain grading equipment to ensure precision. 4. Collaboration: Work closely with gemmologists, laboratory technicians, and quality control personnel to maintain workflow efficiency and uphold grading standards.
