GCP Systems Engineer (Infrastructure & Operations)

Job Summary: We are seeking a hands-on GCP Systems Engineer with a deep foundation in Linux Administration and Cloud Infrastructure Architecture. In this role, you will be the core technical owner responsible for managing, troubleshooting, securing, and optimising our enterprise Google Cloud environment. This is not a surface-level cloud administration job or a software development role. We need a systems specialist who understands operating system internals, complex cloud networking, and infrastructure-as-code, and who can confidently handle real-world production incidents and infrastructure optimisation.Key Responsibilities

• GCP Infrastructure Ownership: Deploy, configure, and administer compute, storage, networking, and IAM services within Google Cloud Platform.
• Linux Core Administration: Manage, patch, tune, and troubleshoot Ubuntu, RHEL, and CentOS production servers running on GCP.
• Incident Resolution & RCA: Provide L2/L3 support for escalated cloud and OS-level infrastructure incidents, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence.
• Automation & IaC: Maintain and scale infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Monitoring & Observability: Oversee environment health, performance, and cost-efficiency using GCP Operations Suite, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
• Security & Compliance: Implement rigid GCP IAM controls, firewall rules, and vulnerability remediation to keep the environment secure.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years of dedicated experience in Linux System Administration and Cloud Operations.
• Proven production experience with GCP (Compute Engine, VPCs, Cloud Storage, IAM). Must be able to navigate GCP independently from day one.
• Strong infrastructure foundation: Deep understanding of Linux OS internals, network routing, firewalls, and DNS troubleshooting.
• Automation tools: Practical experience writing and maintaining Terraform code and Ansible playbooks.
• Scripting: Proficiency in Bash or Python for operational task automation.
• Emergency Availability: Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation. Occasional, ad-hoc domestic or international travel may be required only in rare instances for critical infrastructure emergencies (<5%).

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), or CI/CD pipelines.

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
