Job description LOCATION- GALAXY HOSPITAL PELHAR The Pathology Lab Technician is responsible for assisting pathologists and medical technologists in the preparation, testing, and analysis of tissue, blood, and other bodily samples. The technician ensures that all laboratory procedures comply with medical standards and safety regulations, contributing to accurate and timely diagnoses. Key Responsibilities: Collect, label, and process tissue, blood, and fluid specimens for examination. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and analyzers. Prepare slides and specimens for microscopic analysis. Assist pathologists in performing gross and microscopic examinations. Record and maintain detailed and accurate data of all tests and procedures. Ensure samples are properly stored and disposed of according to protocols. Maintain a clean and sterile laboratory environment. Monitor quality control and safety compliance. Participate in inventory control of lab supplies and reagents. Assist in preparing diagnostic reports and documentation. Qualifications: Associate or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology, biology, or a related field. Certification from a recognized professional body is preferred. Prior experience in a clinical or pathology laboratory setting is an advantage. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and procedures. Proficiency in lab information systems (LIS) and basic computer skills. Work Environment: Hospital or clinical laboratory setting. May involve exposure to biological hazards and chemicals. Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Often standing for extended periods and working with microscopes or precision instruments.
