Financial Investigations Unit - Consultant

As a candidate for the position to support the VP, FIU, you will be responsible for the following key activities: - Investigating internal STRs (ISTRs) raised to the MLRO team from various sources. - Analyzing the ISTRs by reviewing all documents provided by the reporting party, seeking additional feedback from FLOD Operations or Business, in order to make informed judgements on the cases. - Preparing a comprehensive proposal for the MLRO or designate, providing proper recommendations and risk mitigations. - Ensuring that the MI of reviewed STRs is maintained and kept up-to-date at all times. - Raising or closing cases internally based on feedback from MLRO or designate, with proper documentation. - Tracking and managing all recommendations made to the business or by the MLRO or designate on the cases. - Tracking and managing regulatory responses on filed STRs, ensuring the execution of all risk mitigations. - Engaging with Business Compliance as necessary to resolve cases. - Reviewing and proposing changes to scenarios, rules, and thresholds in transaction monitoring systems, processes, and practices based on identified risks and control deficiencies. - Staying updated on AML/CFT laws, rules, regulations, and best practices related to transaction monitoring and STR filing. - Supporting the execution and program management of financial crime-related projects according to project guidelines set by the compliance governance department. - Preparing responses to AML questionnaires requested by correspondent banks. - Overseeing and effectively managing reported unusual activities and suspicious transactions. - Ensuring timely reporting of unusual activities and suspicious transactions to the MLRO and Regulatory Authorities. - Providing Compliance expertise in activities related to data migration into new systems identified. - Attending to regulatory matters promptly and efficiently. - Providing adequate support to stakeholders to help identify and report suspicious transactions. - Proactively anticipating and assisting businesses in managing emerging AML typologies. - Building and maintaining good relationships with businesses to cultivate a seamless environment culture. - Assisting with any ad-hoc tasks assigned by Line Manager or MLRO.,
