Field Officer- Plantations- Coffee & Tea

The job aims to assist the plantation management team in implementing effective farming practices for coffee and cardamom cultivation. This involves ensuring optimal yield, quality, and sustainable agricultural practices. The key responsibilities include supervising day-to-day operations such as planting, maintenance, harvesting, and processing of coffee and cardamom. Monitoring crop health, overseeing pest and disease control, and implementing sustainable farming techniques are crucial aspects of the role. Another important duty is to coordinate and train field workers on best agricultural practices. Managing labor schedules efficiently to ensure timely completion of plantation activities is essential. Quality control is maintained by regularly inspecting fields to uphold crop quality standards and supporting post-harvest processing activities. Resource management involves tracking and managing the usage of fertilizers, pesticides, and other inputs. Additionally, maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment, and resources required for fieldwork is necessary. Data recording and reporting are vital tasks that include recording field observations, production data, and progress reports. Assisting in preparing reports for management regarding crop performance and field activities is also part of the job. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree/diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related fields with a minimum of 5-6 years of experience. Skills required include a strong understanding of coffee and cardamom cultivation practices, knowledge of pest and disease management, and basic understanding of sustainable farming and organic/inorganic agricultural practices. Excellent communication, team management skills, proficiency in field data recording, and basic computer applications are also necessary. Labour mobilization experience is advantageous.
