FICO Blaze Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Deliver and support FICO Blaze Advisor solutions for healthcare and Medicaid initiatives. FICO Blaze is the primary skill. Java and API integration are necessary supporting skills, with Oracle SQL/PLSQL required for supporting development and troubleshooting.

Lead design, development, integration, and delivery of FICO Blaze Advisor decisioning solutions for complex healthcare and government-program initiatives.

Partner with business, architecture, and IT teams to turn requirements into secure, scalable, maintainable applications.

Support healthcare capabilities such as member eligibility, claims, and related operational workflows.

Guide team members, coordinate work across a matrixed organization, and resolve technical, delivery, and production issues.

Apply sound practices for CI/CD, automation, testing, security, scalability, and production support.

Use enterprise-approved AI tools, where permitted, to improve coding, documentation, analysis, and delivery workflows in line with company policy.

Preferred candidate profile

At least 1 year of hands-on FICO Blaze Advisor experience. Experience configuring, developing, testing, or supporting decision rules is relevant.

Hands-on Java development and API integration experience are required supporting skills.

Healthcare industry experience, preferably supporting Medicaid, Medicare, or other government healthcare programs.

Knowledge of member eligibility and claims processes; state or government-program implementation experience is valuable.

Experience with enterprise integration, production support, testing, and disciplined software delivery.

Ability to collaborate across teams, mentor colleagues, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.

Primary and Supporting Skills

FICO Blaze Advisor is the primary skill. Java/API integration and Oracle SQL/PLSQL are supporting skills for this role.

Oracle SQL/PLSQL: Working knowledge is required for database queries, stored procedures, and application support.

Java/API integration: Ability to build, consume, and troubleshoot APIs that connect FICO Blaze with enterprise applications.

FICO Blaze Advisor: Hands-on configuration, rules development, decision flow implementation, testing, and integration.

Additional helpful experience: Big Data or Databricks exposure, Oracle database work, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, healthcare EDI (834/837/835/820), data integration or ETL, machine learning, or AI-enabled solutions.
