Features Writer

We’re looking for a curious, creative and detail-oriented Features Writer with a keen eye for fashion, culture and lifestyle. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, enjoys discovering fresh perspectives, and can translate ideas into compelling editorial features for print as well as digital platforms. From profiling designers and exploring emerging trends to developing lifestyle stories and assisting with fashion shoots, this role offers an opportunity to work across editorial, creative and digital content.

Key Responsibilities:

- Editorial & Feature Writing: Conceptualize and write engaging fashion features, designer profiles, interviews, brand stories, trend reports and lifestyle articles.

- Research & Story Development: Stay abreast of fashion, culture, design and lifestyle developments to identify relevant stories and fresh editorial angles.

- Interviewing: Assist with interview research, questionnaire development and editorial coordination with designers, industry professionals and other talent.

- Photoshoot Coordination: Assist in planning and executing fashion shoots, working closely with photographers, stylists, designers and the creative team.

- Digital & Social Content: Contribute to social media storytelling through captions, post copy, content ideas and platform-specific formats.

- Creative Collaboration: Work with editorial, creative and marketing teams to develop story concepts and translate them into engaging content.

- Visual Content Support: Use Canva for basic layouts, presentations and social media creatives.

- Editorial Quality: Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, grammatically sound and consistent with First Look’s editorial voice.

- Event Coverage: Identify and capture relevant, platform-friendly, real-time content including behind-the-scenes footage, designer interactions, interviews, photoshoot snippets and event coverage.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- A degree or relevant qualification in Fashion Communication, Journalism, Mass Media, English or a related field.

- Strong writing, editing, proofreading and research skills.

- A genuine interest in fashion journalism, feature writing and editorial storytelling.

- Familiarity with fashion publications, designers, brands and the wider fashion landscape.

- A basic understanding of Instagram, digital content formats and social media trends.

- Working knowledge of Canva and other basic content creation tools.

- Strong communication, organisational and coordination skills.

- The ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines and work collaboratively.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- A natural storyteller who is curious about fashion, culture, people and the ideas shaping the industry.

- Someone who can think beyond the obvious and develop distinctive angles for editorial stories.

- An individual with a sharp eye for detail, a strong command of language and a willingness to learn.

- Comfortable working in a dynamic editorial environment, including assisting with shoots and on-ground content requirements.

- Prior internships or experience in fashion media, journalism, digital publishing or content writing will be an advantage.
