Job Summary: The Fleet Management Executive will be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective management of the company's vehicle fleet. This includes overseeing vehicle maintenance, tracking fuel consumption, managing driver schedules, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and optimizing fleet utilization. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of fleet operations and logistics. Key Responsibilities: Fleet Operations & Maintenance: Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for all fleet vehicles. Manage relationships with garages, service providers, and vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective services. Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and service history. Monitor vehicle performance and identify areas for improvement or replacement. Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life. Fuel Management: Monitor and analyze fuel consumption patterns to identify and address inefficiencies. Implement strategies to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce costs. Manage fuel card programs and reconcile fuel expenses. Driver Management: Assist in the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of drivers. Monitor driver performance, adherence to company policies, and driving behavior. Ensure drivers are compliant with all relevant licenses, permits, and regulations. Manage driver schedules and optimize routes for efficiency. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all fleet operations comply with local, state, and national transportation regulations (e.g., RTO rules, pollution control norms, safety standards). Implement and enforce company safety policies and procedures for drivers and vehicles. Conduct regular safety audits and address any identified risks or non-compliance issues. Manage vehicle insurance policies and handle accident reporting and claims. Inventory & Asset Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of all fleet vehicles and associated equipment. Track vehicle registration, permits, and renewals. Assist in vehicle acquisition and disposal processes. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, costs, fuel consumption, and maintenance. Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and operational improvements. Provide insights and recommendations to management for strategic fleet decisions. Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, service providers, and vendors related to fleet operations. Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Proven experience (typically 1-2 years) in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations, preferably within a corporate or commercial setting. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and operational procedures. Familiarity with relevant transportation laws and regulations in India (especially Maharashtra).
