Exide Technologies, LLC, as a part of Exide Holdings, Inc., filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on May 19, 2020. Through a court-supervised auction both the Americas battery manufacturing and recycling businesses and the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)/Asia-Pacific (APAC) battery manufacturing and recycling businesses were sold to separate buyers in August 2020 and October 2020 respectively.
