Proposal & Estimation Engineer (F/M)
Location: Mumbai - IndiaFor our TTS & Commercial team, we are looking for a Proposal & Estimation Engineer. They will be located in Powai at Mumbai in India.MAIN MISSION About the role The Proposal & Estimation Engineer is responsible for proposal engineering and estimation of budget for theprocess heaters and for Modular Process Units required for green field / Revamp projects in Oil & Gas, Refinery,Petrochemicals, and Bio-fuels industry. They report operationally to the Proposal - HOD. As a Proposal Engineer multiple proposal and estimating projects global & local are to be managed. They are also responsible for ensuring that correct market prices are estimated with required pre-bid engineering andwith back-up vendor quotes with compliance to various procedures and standards within Group. They will also maintain business relationship with the clients, vendors, engineering subcontractors, internal stakeholdersand fabrication/ erection contractors. The selected candidate will support the development of competitive technical and commercial proposals, prepare cost estimates,coordinate with engineering and procurement teams, and contribute to winning new business opportunities. This position involves local frequent travel in India, especially for engineering subcontractors/Client meetings. The role also requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in afast-paced international environment. Roles and ResponsibilitiesReview RFQs, ITBs, technical specifications, and client requirements.Planning the proposal process to meet the deadline.Prepare technical and commercial proposals for process modules, fired heaters, fabrication, and EPC/EPCM projects. ¥Participate in bid clarification meetings and support client interactions.¥ Preparing Material takeoff from data sheets, sketches and P&IDs¥ Inquire, receive quotes and coordinate with suppliers to evaluate their offers for various items¥ Review and evaluate vendor, fabrication and construction subcontractors quote.¥ Preparation of detailed fixed price estimates based on quotes from vendors and inputs from various internal departments.¥ Prepare and defend estimates during internal review and during global management review¥ Preparation of as-sold estimate on securing jobs.¥ Organizing internal kick-off meeting to complete project handover process.¥ Continuous improvement of estimate template.¥ Maintaining a cost database with necessary documentation to allow quality benchmarking of the estimate.¥ Close coordination engineering, procurement, project execution, and commercial teams to gather proposal inputs and technical alignment.¥ Coordination with Client to understand their requirement and proposing feasible solutions.¥ Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors¥ Preparing supportive documents and taking lead during system Audits.Soft Skills¥Good Communication Written / Spoken ¥Time ManagementSoftware ProficiencyCandidate must have knowledge of:¥Windows based software programs Word, Excel, Power PointQualification and Experience ¥B.Tech. / B.E. Mechanical Engineering with Min 5 to 8 years of experience with hands on experience working with EPC scope for Oil & gas, Petrochemical sector. ¥Must have worked on pre-bid engineering as a proposal engineer in an EPC company or on EPC projects. ¥Good technical knowledge about Fired heaters, Reformers and Process Modules. ¥Familiar with licensors design companies like Axens,UOP, Lummus or similar companies. ¥Experience of international codes like ASME, TEMA, API, NACE, ANSI, GOST, OSHA etc. ¥Good level of English and Indian language. ¥Should have experience in estimating modular units that include equipment like reactors, pumps, compressors, air coolers and S&T exchangers, filters etc. ¥Should have basic understanding of licensor documents, especially P&IDs, special requirements for equipment / instrument data sheet. ¥Should be well versed with rule of thumbs used for quick estimation of modular units and furnaces. ¥Experience with estimation of fired heaters and other similar custom-engineered heat transfer equipment using bills of material from datasheet & drawings for skids, modules, piping, valves, equipment etc. ¥Should be conversant of preparing packing list and delivery incoterms. ¥Conversant in engineering nomenclature to effectively communicate with various engineering groups. ¥Detail oriented with strong analytical skills. ¥Ability to work independently. ¥Handling multiple proposals at a time. ¥Should have know-how about current bought out equipments, bulks, fabrication, NDT & Installation rates.Interested candidates send resume to suresh@maestroheadhunters.com
