Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Billing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in quantity estimation , rate analysis , and Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) preparation. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD for interpreting drawings and familiarity with the tendering process in real estate construction projects. The Billing Engineer will oversee the billing process, ensure the accuracy of cost estimates, and manage project invoicing in line with the construction progress. Key Responsibilities: Billing and Invoicing: Prepare accurate and timely client invoices for real estate construction projects, ensuring that all billings align with contract terms, work completed, and project progress. Ensure that all material and labor costs are accounted for in the billing process. Verify subcontractor and supplier invoices for accuracy and ensure timely payments. Quantity Estimation & Rate Analysis: Perform quantity take-offs and estimations for various construction activities, including earthworks, concreting, finishing, etc. Analyze material and labor costs, and assist in determining unit rates for construction activities. Provide rate analysis for tender submissions, ensuring accurate pricing of construction work. Bar Bending Schedule (BBS): Prepare detailed Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) based on structural drawings. Ensure the accuracy of BBS in line with the design specifications and drawings. Work closely with the site team to monitor the procurement and consumption of steel reinforcement materials. AutoCAD Drawings: Interpret and extract data from AutoCAD drawings for accurate quantity take-offs. Ensure that project drawings are consistent with the scope of work and are accurately reflected in the billings. Utilize AutoCAD drawings to assist in quantity verification during site visits and billing processes. Tendering and Cost Analysis: Assist in preparing tenders by providing detailed cost estimates and assisting in the analysis of contract specifications. Review tender documents and calculate the quantities required for pricing. Provide detailed recommendations for pricing based on the analysis of project scope and specifications. Project Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and organized records of all billing-related documents such as work orders, change orders, contracts, and progress reports. Ensure all documents are properly filed and accessible for future reference, audits, or project reviews. Cost Control and Reporting: Assist the project management team with cost control and tracking of project expenditures. Monitor project budgets, identify potential cost overruns, and take corrective actions where necessary. Provide regular reports to management on project costs, billing status, and progress. Client and Subcontractor Communication: Communicate with clients and subcontractors to resolve any billing or payment-related issues. Address queries related to quantities, unit rates, and billing discrepancies. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that billing processes comply with contractual terms, legal requirements, and company policies. Ensure quality standards are maintained in all billing activities and related tasks. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 6+ years of experience in billing , quantity estimation , rate analysis , BBS preparation , and AutoCAD drawings in the construction or real estate industry. Strong knowledge of tendering processes and cost estimation. Proficiency in AutoCAD for interpreting construction drawings. Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and construction-related software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar). Knowledge of construction standards, methods, and project management practices. Desired Skills: Expertise in quantity take-off , rate analysis , and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) . Strong understanding of construction contracts, tendering procedures, and cost analysis. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, vendors, and project teams. Ability to solve problems, negotiate, and handle contract discrepancies. Work Conditions: The role may require site visits to construction locations for quantity verification, measurement, and documentation. Ability to work extended hours during peak billing periods or project deadlines. Flexibility to handle multiple projects and work under tight timelines. Minimum of 6+ years of experience is required.
