Job Description

Role Overview: As a Software Engineer at HARMAN Automotive, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining different low-level drivers and kernel-level software to enhance the driving experience. You will showcase your expertise in open-source development practices and be skilled in developing complex drivers. Your role will involve in-depth issue analysis within complex system environments. Key Responsibilities: - Own the design, development, and debugging of kernel-level software components to ensure stability, performance, and security. - Investigate and resolve kernel-related issues using debugging tools and methodologies. - Develop kernel drivers for multiple products in Harman and provide on-time support for architecture, design, and delivery activities. - Participate in proposal to customer requests, RFQ, and other opportunities that may arise. - Maintain engineering standards by establishing policies on software design standards and identifying methods to improve teamwork effectiveness. - Perform technical research, monitor current technology trends, and assist in new product development. - Use Agile Scrum Methodology for software development, ensure proper code review, and drive the team with an "Act like Owner Mindset". Qualifications Required: - Masters/bachelor's degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering. - 5+ years of experience in software development with 2+ years of experience in LINUX/Android driver development. - Good understanding of QNX, Kernel Internals, C programming, Android/Linux Boot Sequence, and various Framework module architecture. - Proficiency in multi-threaded programming, middleware solution development on Linux & Android, and strong fundamentals of Inter-Process Communication and OS concepts. - Strong knowledge of Embedded Linux Kernel Internals & Device Drivers, ARM 32/64 Architectures, Kernel Debugging, Realtime OS, Display, Camera, Input device subsystems, I2C, SPI, UART subsystems, and Memory, Storage devices. - Required Languages: C, C++, HAL, Device Drivers, System programming. - Required OS: Linux/QNX/Android/RT Linux.
