The FMCS Executive is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The role ensures the effective delivery of mediation, conciliation, and conflict management services to labor unions, employers, and government entities. The Executive leads initiatives that promote labor-management cooperation, prevent industrial disputes, and strengthen collective bargaining processes. Role & responsibilities : Provide overall leadership, direction, and management of FMCS operations and personnel. Oversee the development and implementation of policies, programs, and strategic plans to improve labor relations nationwide. Manage relationships with unions, employers, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Represent FMCS in high-level negotiations, conferences, and public forums. Ensure the delivery of high-quality mediation, arbitration, and conflict resolution services. Direct the preparation of annual budgets, performance reports, and strategic documents. Supervise regional and departmental directors, ensuring accountability and operational excellence. Promote innovation in dispute resolution, including digital mediation and training initiatives. Preferred candidate profile : Proven record of leadership in government, industrial relations, or a related organization. Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
