Overview & Responsibilities PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Project Engineer / Project Engineering coordinator (PEC) functions is the primary interface for the client for technical issues regarding their purchase of ELLIOTT equipment and auxiliary (equipment & packages) systems. The project engineer interprets customer requirement via email/meeting/specifications for technical aspect, and translates them for ELLIOTT internal use during the Project Execution phase of an assigned customer order in New Apparatus (NA) business unit. Expected Role will be; 1) Customer Face Aspect Effective support of Sodegaura (Sode, Japan) or Jnt (USA) assigned PEC at execution phases for managing customer in technical activities KOM, Tech Coordination Meeting Attendance ( with or in lieu of Sode or Jnte PEC) Participates in Fast Track meetings, internal meetings as necessary to solve problems and ensure technical & commercial requirements of the project are being met. Progress and Schedule sharing with SCM, PM Support for local Regulations, Code, Standards, certifications (i.e. CCOE or other country s etc.) Customer Visit and Meeting Schedule Arrangement Interface with customer and third-party entities (as required) 2) EG Internal Aspect Interface with internal Sode/Jnte members, sub-suppliers (as required) Provide input as requested for continuous improvement of the contract execution work process Leading of MEs/CEs (monitoring their progress) Communication with them at customer coordination Support of Japanese or US member visit to India 3) Business Development Aspect Creation of summary of local Regulation, Code, Standard, certification (CCOE or other country s etc.) for Japanese/US member education Idea of engineering development for effect execution of Project (cost down etc.) Promote a positive attitude for a safe and healthy work environment, as well as awareness for high quality products and services from the Project Engineering section. Provide engineering support as required to Project Engineering BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Engineering / Technology, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum of typically two (2) to eighteen (18) years of experience, as a Project Engineer in the turbomachinery field. Demonstrated leadership ability. NATURE OF THE JOB The principle daily activities of this job involve collecting and analyzing detailed technical information, and effectively communicating that information regarding the assigned project to the appropriate organization. Responding to new or unfamiliar complex situations is a common experience, however, guidance and direction from others will still be required. This position will expose the individual to direct customer contact. Ability to manage multiple short term and Long-term tasks with limited supervision and direction. Serves as a key lead member within Project Execution team to help manage large and complex projects. Configure solutions based on customer specifications and requirements. Acts on behalf of Elliott Group in communications between the customer with involvement at all levels an extends across all major Elliott, vendor, and customer departments of sales, manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing. Build effective communication and working relations with customer, vendor, and Elliott personnel involved in a project to promote teamwork that ensures success. Coordinates all Elliott and vendor technical information to ensure compliance to contract standards and schedule. Provide support for both Elliott and customer personnel during field installation and start-up to minimize warranty expenses and maximize customer satisfaction with Elliott. The nature of the job is designed to further build upon the foundation of knowledge gained as an ENGINEER I or II or III Project Engineering coordinator, or from previous equivalent work experience. Training for the position will be aimed at self-development of specialization in technical areas and begin to develop organizational leadership skills. The individual will be encouraged to further develop their individual contribution to the Project Engineering departmental goals, to the extent that activities covered by established policies or standard procedures can be successfully managed. Expected travel is around 10-35% typically. Additional work hours or temporary schedule adjustment may be required. SUPERVISION Direction of others work efforts will be required such as direction to design staff, junior engineers, and document control staff. The individual may be asked to provide direction to intern, rotational engineer, ENGINEER I - Project Engineering coordinator, ENGINEER II - Project Engineering coordinator, ENGINEER III - Project Engineering coordinator positions as mentoring or project relationships as required. SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES Continued building understanding of the ELLIOTT organization, its product lines, Project Engineering Group work procedures, and methods. The position requires the continued development in the area of instrumentation and controls engineering with the expectation that the individual is to develop as a resource to the department in this area. Continue building an understanding of industry related standards, such as API 612, 610, 614, 617, 670, 692, ASTM. Additionally the position requires a sound understanding of other codes and standards frequently encountered in the petrochemical and oil and gas industries. Actively participate in Project Transfer Meetings, manage transfer of project technical information from Proposal stage, to Execution stage. Actively participate in key project meetings when required, including Kick Off Meeting (KOM), HAZOP meeting, Customer Coordination Meeting (CCM), Pre-Inspection Meeting (PIM) and Design Review Meetings (DRM). Facilitate major supplier meetings with client, and ELLIOTT personnel, including Kick Off Meeting (KOM), Customer Coordination Meeting (CCM), Pre-Inspection Meeting (PIM) and Design Review Meetings (DRM), with the assistance of the Project Manager. Correspondence, documents, and information to be submitted to the client for approval or record, through the Project Engineer. Provide due diligence in the retention of information sufficient to maintain adequate knowledge of the project for downstream operations both internal and external to ELLIOTT GROUP. Ability to understand turbomachinery auxiliary systems and related equipment functionalities. Also shall have ability procure same as external skids /items/equipment from external suppliers through purchase requisitions. Attend turbomachinery package 3D model reviews and provide technical assistance. Support and Lead in interpreting customer specifications and requisitioning components to meet those specifications. Review supplier documentation/calculations/ typical mechanical and general layouts drawings . Develop technical competence, encourage personal development and career growth by creating individualized career plan and set goals with the Manager of Project Engineering Maintain/improve customer relations through direct interface with all levels in the customer organization on project coordination, document schedule status, and technical issues as follows: Ensure effective and responsible representation of Elliott Group at all times Maintain good rapport with customer at all times through open communications. Coordinate and maintain personal contact with customer expediters and inspectors during visits to Elliott and vendor facilities. Plan and organize a customer coordination meeting for each project to ensure agreement between Elliott and the customer on the requirements for the project Define problems quickly and make critical decisions with appropriate authority levels, as necessary. Perform advance planning to avoid problems and delays which reduce profits. Monitor customer and internal changes or delays affecting schedules and profit levels Develop price and lead-time impact for customer-requested changes and negotiate final resolution. Take or approve corrective measures to improve the situation. Obtain customer acceptance of delays to manufacturing schedule. Translate project requirements into defined tasks and assure completion. Perform Inspections using Measuring instruments, Hardness testing machines, Concentricity checks, MPI and FPI. Operate, Heat treatment unit, Grit blasting, Rotor wash and Balancing machines in the most efficient way, meeting the Quality & Delivery requirements as per Specs & Schedule. As part of cross functional responsibilities, Operate, Welding machines, Conventional machines, CNC machines, Tool setter etc, as assigned by Shop Supervisor. Operate, Overhead Cranes, Forklift, Pallet truck, Hydraulic Jack, Band saw, Bench grinding, Diesel Generator and Air Compressor. Adhere to all the HSE procedures of the company and Statutory requirements, including use of relevant PPE s, JHS a and Elliott Safety policies. Ensure that all work is completed in a safe manner and compliant with all current legislation (inc. Safety, Environmental, Employment etc.) under direction of shop supervisor. Overview & Responsibilities PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The engineer III functions as the primary interface between Assembly & Test (A&T) manufacturing operations, , and test engineering regarding test setup and technical support of ELLIOTT equipment and auxiliary systems. The engineer III interprets test engineering specifications, technical requirements, performs the necessary calculations and drawings, and produces the required test setup and support related documents. The purpose of the position is to provide experience to a newly hired A&T ENGINEER III with equivalent experience. The position will function primarily as a contributing Engineer on turbines No load mechanical run test. . In either case the position will work to achieve equitable and satisfactory execution of test arrangement and setup requirements to support production demand. Maintain an environment for professional and ethical conduct within the Assembly & Test section. Review technical specifications and drawings, test procedures and test plans required for testing. Advanced level computer literacy is a must, as is fundamental knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes of Turbo machineries. Familiarization with ISO, ASME, and API codes and regulations. Experience with rotating equipment and other forms of turbomachinery and an understanding of rotor/bearing systems. NATURE OF THE JOB : Performs engineering assignments involving test arrangements, tooling development, and testing support systems by utilizing engineering principles, methodology, and precedence. Exercises judgment, evaluation, and recommendation within the scope of designated responsibility. Keeps a record of all shop order test setup configurations and revisions, ensures test arrangements meet Elliott standards of design integrity, as-well-as the consideration of shop floor feasibility for installation execution. Troubleshooting and problem solving are required when machinery testing fails to perform as expected. Perform or review any and all analysis that may be necessary to achieve this end.
