Purpose of the Job To lead the organizations R&D function in developing innovative ferrous alloys, enhancing metallurgical processes, improving product quality, and driving technological advancement. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all R&D activities, managing innovation pipelines, and ensuring intellectual property protection through patents and research publications. Role & responsibilities Formulate and execute R&D strategy aligned with organizational goals and market needs. Lead development of new ferrous alloy grades, casting methods, and metallurgical processes. Oversee pilot projects, material testing, and process validation for scalability and cost efficiency. Collaborate with production, quality, and marketing teams to translate R&D outcomes into commercial products. Identify opportunities for innovation and ensure timely filing of patents and intellectual property. Liaise with external research bodies, universities, and industry consortiums to stay abreast of emerging technologies. Drive patent filings, manage intellectual property (IP) portfolio, and ensure protection of company innovations. Guide and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. Prepare technical reports, research publications, and project documentation. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards related to R&D activities. Preferred candidate profile Educational Qualification: M.Tech. in Materials Science / Metallurgical Engineering OR Ph.D. in Metallurgy / Materials Science preferred Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant industrial R&D experience in ferrous alloys, metallurgy, or foundry industry. Proven track record of product and process innovation in alloy development or metallurgical advancements. Experience in leading research teams and managing multi-disciplinary projects. Technical Competencies Deep understanding of ferrous metallurgy, phase transformations, and alloy design. Expertise in casting technologies, heat treatment, and failure analysis. Proficiency in materials characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, DSC, etc.). Familiarity with computational materials science and simulation tools (ThermoCalc, JMatPro, etc.). Strong understanding of intellectual property (IP) and experience with at least 3 patents or significant exposure to patent filing. This role demands a strategic professional with deep industry expertise, responsible for cultivating strong client relationships and capitalizing on new business opportunities to achieve ambitious revenue targets. Responsibilities includes: Develop and implement a comprehensive regional sales strategy to achieve market penetration and revenue goals for Alfrans refractory products and solutions. Cultivate and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with key decision-makers at cement plants, engineering consultants, and other industry stakeholders. Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Alfrans footprint in the assigned territory. Drive the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure, ensuring profitability targets are met. Collaborate effectively with technical and operations teams to ensure the seamless delivery of value-added solutions and superior customer service. Prepare and submit timely sales forecasts, market intelligence reports, and activity reports as required by management. Preferred candidate profile A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated success in B2B sales, specifically selling refractory products to the cement industry. An established network and proven relationships with cement plants in Western and Central India are essential. A proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market. Familiarity with advanced installation techniques, particularly shotcreting, will be a significant advantage. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.

After-Sales Service : Coordinate for after-sales support, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and spare parts supply, to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term relationships. Customer Feedback : Gather customer feedback to inform future product improvements or adaptations. Preferred candidate profile The desired candidate should have 6~8 years of previous experience in Market develop and sales of Capital products with reasonable understanding of the Indian geography and market. He should have experience in identifying new customers, prospecting and business conversion through proper mapping of the industries, markets, customers and awareness on leveraging digital marketing platforms. Languages : Proficiency in English and Tamil is a must. Working knowledge of Hindi will be desired.
