EDM Spark Operator

Vedika Machinery Pvt. Ltd. is India’s largest manufacturer and exporter of spare parts for teabag packaging machinery, with exports to over 38 countries. We are seeking an experienced EDM Spark Operator to join our high-precision manufacturing team at our Kolkata factory.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor EDM Spark erosion machines (Electronica or similar) for precision part manufacturing
• Read and understand technical drawings and job cards
• Set up jobs based on sample or AutoCAD drawing
• Ensure accurate tool alignment, spark parameters, and finish quality
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on EDM machine
• Work closely with QC department to meet tight tolerances
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area
• Record daily output and follow shift schedule

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience operating EDM Spark machines
• Familiarity with Electronica EDM machines preferred
• Ability to read 2D mechanical drawings and understand dimensional tolerances
• Understanding of precision machining for hard materials (e.g. tool steel, hardened steel)
• Knowledge of spark parameters, electrode wear, and machining strategy
• Should be comfortable working in a team-oriented shop floor environment

Preferred Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Tool & Die Making
• Experience in a precision parts or tooling environment

Location Note

This is a full-time on-site position at our factory in Paharpur / Taratala, Kolkata. Applicants must be willing to commute daily.
