Job Description: Senior Journalist – Videos & Social Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Journalist – Videos & Social to lead the video content output for BBC Tamil under Collective Newsroom. This is a strategic editorial role based out of Delhi, requiring deep knowledge of video storytelling, Tamil language proficiency, and digital-first journalism. The role includes leading video strategy, producing impactful stories, and collaborating with an 8–10 member editorial team. Key Responsibilities · Lead daily video production and strategy for BBC Tamil's social and digital platforms. · Shape editorial direction for Tamil video content with strong judgment and story sense. · Collaborate with editorial teams for seamless integration of video and story series. · Plan and execute compelling, audience-focused video campaigns. · Ensure all content upholds the BBC’s standards of accuracy and impartiality. Candidate Requirements · Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in digital or video journalism. · Mandatory experience in news journalism (digital or broadcast). · Fluency in Tamil (spoken and written) is mandatory. · Demonstrated experience in content writing and scripting in Tamil. · Strong hands-on experience in video production from end to end – ideation, scripting, directing, shooting, editing, and publishing. · Comfortable with professional video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent. · Understanding of international affairs and issues relevant to Tamil-speaking audiences. · Proven ability to develop platform-appropriate content for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and emerging digital channels. · Willingness to work full-time on-site in Delhi (relocation support provided).
