As a Metal Fabricator, your primary responsibility will be to read and interpret engineering blueprints accurately. You will be required to construct base templates if necessary and measure and mark out cutting and bending lines. Setting up metalwork machinery such as rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears will also be part of your duties. It is essential to double-check design specifications before commencing cutting work, fabricate and construct metal components, and perform grinding and finishing on completed products. Quality checks on finished products and adherence to state and company safety regulations are crucial aspects of this role. Additionally, completing job reports will be required as part of your job responsibilities. To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and have previous work experience as a metal fabricator. AWS certification and advanced welding experience are highly desirable.
