Job Description E-commerce Developer (Shopify / WooCommerce) Part-time Role E-commerce Developer (Shopify / WooCommerce) Building, customizing and maintaining client online stores 3+ years building Shopify and/or WooCommerce stores Focus Experience Commitment Part-time, about 20 hours per week, with some overlap with client business hours Location Remote Role Summary Were hiring a part-time E-commerce Developer to build and look after Shopify and WooCommerce stores for our clients, from new store launches and theme customization to integrations, performance tuning and ongoing fixes. Youll take requests from client and Idaya teams, turn them into clean, tested changes, and keep stores fast, secure and easy for clients to run themselves. This is a hands-on, flexible-hours role for an experienced developer who can work independently and deliver on agreed timelines. What Youll Do Build and launch stores. Set up Shopify and WooCommerce stores end to end: products, collections, variants, shipping, taxes, payments and checkout. Customize themes. Develop and modify themes with Liquid (Shopify) and PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript (WordPress/WooCommerce), building responsive, on-brand pages and sections. Extend functionality. Configure and customize apps and plugins, and build custom features where off-the-shelf options fall short. Integrate systems. Connect stores to ERP, CRM, inventory, payment and marketing tools through APIs, webhooks and middleware, including Shopify Admin/Storefront APIs and the WooCommerce REST API. Keep stores fast and found. Improve page speed and Core Web Vitals, and apply technical SEO best practices. Keep stores secure and stable. Manage updates, backups, staging-to-production releases, and fixes for bugs and broken checkouts. Support clients. Turn client requests into scoped tasks, give realistic estimates, and show clients how to manage day-to-day store content themselves. Idaya.ai 2026 Page 1

Document your work. Keep notes on customizations, integrations and settings so others can support the store. What You Bring 3+ years building and customizing Shopify and/or WooCommerce stores, with a portfolio of live stores. Strong Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript; PHP and WordPress development for WooCommerce. Experience with Shopify Admin/Storefront APIs, the WooCommerce REST API, and webhooks. Experience setting up payment gateways, shipping and tax rules, and multi-currency or multi-language stores. Working knowledge of Git, staging environments and safe release practices. Understanding of page speed, Core Web Vitals and technical SEO. Reliable, self-managed working style with clear written communication for remote work. Nice to Have Shopify Plus, Shopify Functions or headless commerce experience (Hydrogen or a headless WooCommerce setup). Integrations with ERP or CRM systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce or HubSpot. Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking. Experience with Klaviyo or other e-commerce marketing tools. Experience working with agencies or multiple clients at once.
