Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have

Dynatrace Observability Engineer: (5-8 Years)

Key Responsibilities

1. Install, configure, and maintain Dynatrace agents

2. Implement custom monitoring scripts and templates.

3. Troubleshoot monitoring issues and maintain system reliability.

4. Automate monitoring processes and workflows.

5. Support infrastructure and application teams in optimizing observability configurations.

Required Skills

Hands-on experience with deploying and configuring Dynatrace (OneAgent, Synthetic Monitoring).

Expertise in infrastructure monitoring (servers, databases, networks).

Familiarity with DevOps pipelines (CI/CD) and observability tool integration.

Strong skills in automation (Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools).

Solid understanding of Linux/Windows systems and networking basics.

Dynatrace Observability Analyst: (8-12 Years)

1. Monitor systems and applications using Dynatrace dashboards.

2. Analyze metrics, logs, and traces to detect anomalies and performance bottlenecks.

3. Generate and distribute performance reports to stakeholders.

4. Fine-tune alerting thresholds and configurations.

5. Collaborate with incident response teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Required Skills

Proficiency in creating dashboards, custom queries, and alerts in Dynatrace.

Understanding of monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for applications and infrastructure.

Basic scripting skills for data analysis (Python, SQL).

Familiarity with ITIL processes like Incident and Problem Management.

Knowledge of application performance monitoring (APM), logs, and synthetic monitoring.

Certifications to Consider (Good to have)

1. Dynatrace Certified Associate (Dynatrace University).

2. AWS/Azure/GCP Monitoring Specializations.

3. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) for container monitoring.

4. ITIL Foundation Certification for process understanding.

Dynatrace Observability Architect: (10-15 Years)

1. Design and implement end-to-end observability strategies using Dynatrace.

2. Develop and maintain architecture standards, best practices, and governance models for observability solutions.

3. Integrate Dynatrace with other tools (e.g., ITSM, AIOps, and logging platforms).

4. Ensure scalability, high availability, and performance of monitoring solutions.

5. Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and business teams to align observability strategies with organizational goals.

6. Conduct training sessions to empower teams with observability best practices.

Required Skills

Expertise in Dynatrace (OneAgent, AppMon, RUM, and Cloud integrations).

Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their monitoring capabilities.

Experience in containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) and related monitoring.

Knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.

Understanding of AIOps and integration with observability platforms.

Familiarity with protocols like SNMP, REST API, and log forwarding.
