Role: Sr. Mechanical Engineer / Product Design Engineer Location: Hyderabad Experience: 4–5+ Years About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in consumer product design , design for manufacturability (DFM) , and industrialization for production . The candidate will be responsible for leading the engineering engagement with the client, translating customer requirements into actionable engineering tasks, developing concepts, guiding a team of CAD engineers, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary technical interface with the client; conduct regular design review meetings and requirement clarifications. Convert client requirements and feedback into structured engineering tasks for the Hyderabad-based design team. Develop initial product concepts , proposals, feasibility studies, and present them to the client for approval. Review and validate 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings created by the engineering team. Ensure designs are optimized for production , cost, materials, and assembly (DFM/DFA). Own the design freeze process and ensure design intent is captured before client submission. Manage design iterations, incorporate feedback, track revisions, and ensure alignment to project timelines. Support vendor interface, material selection, prototyping, and pilot manufacturing readiness. Mentor and guide a team of junior and mid-level engineers to achieve quality and schedule commitments. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of experience in consumer product / appliance / electronic product mechanical design . Strong proficiency in Siemens NX (or similar CAD tools). Experience working in Teamcenter PLM environment is preferred. Proven knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, cast and machined parts . Strong understanding of design validation, prototyping, testing processes . Excellent communication, documentation, and client-facing skills. Ability to work independently with end-to-end ownership of engineering deliverables. Preferred Experience coordinating offshore/remote engineering teams. Prior work with start-ups or consumer product development companies.
