We are looking for an experienced and technically accomplished DGM – VMware Horizon & Workspace ONE (WS1) Specialist to lead enterprise-level Digital Workspace, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) initiatives.

The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on expertise in VMware Horizon 8, Horizon Cloud, Workspace ONE (Omnissa), App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), along with strong experience in enterprise infrastructure architecture, cloud migrations, automation, and endpoint management.
This position requires a combination of deep technical expertise, strategic leadership, and proven team management capabilities. The candidate will be responsible for architecting, deploying, migrating, and managing large-scale enterprise digital workspace environments across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
1. VMware Horizon Architecture & Migration
- Lead the architecture, design, deployment, and implementation of enterprise-scale VMware Horizon environments.
- Drive complex migrations from legacy VDI and on-premises infrastructure to cloud-hosted Horizon platforms.
- Manage and implement Horizon Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Azure VMware Solution (AVS) environments.
- Design scalable, secure, highly available, and performance-optimized VDI solutions.
- Lead infrastructure modernization and digital workspace transformation initiatives.
2. VMware Horizon Platform Management
- Oversee Day-0 (Design), Day-1 (Deployment), and Day-2 (Operations and Support) activities.
- Manage VMware Horizon 8, Horizon Cloud, Instant Clone architectures, and App Volumes.
- Implement and optimize Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM).
- Manage desktop provisioning, user profiles, application delivery, and virtual desktop performance.
- Ensure platform availability, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
3. Workspace ONE & Unified Endpoint Management
- Lead Workspace ONE UEM and Workspace ONE Access implementation and administration.
- Manage enterprise endpoint mobility, device enrollment, and multi-platform device management.
- Implement unified Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and conditional access policies.
- Manage Workspace ONE Tunnel and secure endpoint connectivity.
- Drive enterprise mobility management and endpoint security initiatives across multiple operating systems.
4. Automation & Scripting
- Develop and implement automation solutions using PowerShell, REST APIs, and VMware Orchestrator.
- Automate bulk device provisioning, configuration management, and endpoint deployment.
- Develop self-healing workflows and automated workspace management processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and scripting.
5. Technical Engineering & L3/L4 Escalation
- Act as the ultimate technical escalation point for complex VMware Horizon and Workspace ONE issues.
- Troubleshoot advanced VDI performance, connectivity, user profile, and cloud connector-related challenges.
- Lead L3/L4 engineering and technical support functions.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Drive continuous improvement in platform performance, security, and service delivery.
6. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage technical engineering teams responsible for VMware Horizon, VDI, EUC, and Workspace ONE environments.
- Manage team performance, resource planning, technical delivery, and operational responsibilities.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to team leads, engineers, and managers.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and enterprise IT teams.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to drive technology strategy and operational excellence.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with VMware Horizon 8 and/or Horizon Cloud.
- Strong expertise in VMware Workspace ONE (Omnissa) UEM and Workspace ONE Access.
- Hands-on experience with VMware App Volumes and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM).
- Strong understanding of VDI architecture, Instant Clones, desktop virtualization, and enterprise digital workspace solutions.
- Experience with cloud-hosted VDI environments, including Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with Identity Providers such as Okta and Ping Identity.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capabilities.
- Experience with REST APIs and VMware Orchestrator.
- Knowledge of SSO, MFA, conditional access, endpoint security, and enterprise mobility management.
Mandatory Leadership Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of team management experience is mandatory.
- Experience managing technical teams in VDI, EUC, VMware infrastructure, endpoint management, or enterprise IT engineering.
- Proven ability to manage team leads, engineering managers, and technical specialists.
- Strong stakeholder management, technical decision-making, and escalation-handling capabilities.
- Experience leading large-scale enterprise technology implementations and operational functions.
Preferred Certifications
- VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM).
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Desktop and Mobility (VCAP-DTM).
- VMware Workspace ONE Professional or Advanced certifications.
- Relevant VMware, Omnissa, cloud infrastructure, or endpoint management certifications.
Candidate Requirements
- 10–16 years of overall relevant IT experience.
- Strong hands-on technical expertise in VMware Horizon and Workspace ONE.
- Minimum 7 years of team management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise VDI architecture, migration, implementation, and operations.
- Stable career history, preferably with more than 3 years of tenure in an organization.
- Must be open to working in rotational shifts whenever required.
- Notice period of up to 60 days.
Compensation
₹25 LPA – ₹50 LPA, depending on experience, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities.
