Job Title: Credit Control Manager

Location: Andher, Mumbai

Job Purpose

To manage and control customer credit risk by ensuring timely collections, monitoring customer exposures, enforcing credit policies, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to minimize financial risk and improve cash flow in the freight forwarding business.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Credit Control & Risk Management

· Manage end-to-end Credit Control operations including customer credit assessment, approval of credit limits, monitoring exposures, and ensuring compliance with approved FCA / credit limits.

· Monitor customer exposure in Logisys / ERP system and ensure timely updates as per approved credit limits.

· Ensure strict adherence to company credit policies, SOPs, and internal compliance requirements to minimize financial and operational risks.

· Identify, highlight, and control deviations, excess credit utilization, and hidden credit risks.

2. Collection & Outstanding Management

· Review and analyze customer outstanding balances, ageing reports, and payment behavior on a regular basis.

· Initiate timely follow-ups with customers for collection of overdue invoices.

· Liaise with customers for payment commitments, dispute resolution, and settlement of overdue invoices.

· Conduct review calls with branches, take collection updates, prepare and circulate Minutes of Meeting (MOM), and track collection progress.

3. Stakeholder Coordination

· Coordinate closely with Sales, Branch Operations, Finance, HR/Admin, and Corporate teams to ensure smooth credit control operations.

· Work with Sales and Branch teams to ensure proper credit utilization and timely recovery.

· Escalate high-risk accounts, chronic overdue cases, and credit violations to management with proper justification and recommendations.

4. MIS & Reporting

· Prepare and share weekly/monthly MIS reports on:

o Customer outstanding

o Overdue and critical cases

o Collection performance

o Write-offs and bad debts

· Provide actionable insights and analysis for management review and decision-making.

5. Compliance, Audit & Documentation

· Support internal and external audits by providing required reports, documents, and explanations.

· Maintain proper documentation of:

o Credit approvals

o Customer exposure files

o Write-off justifications and supporting

o Credit-related correspondence and records

· Ensure all credit-related activities comply with internal controls and audit requirements.

6. TDS Reconciliation

· Perform quarterly customer TDS reconciliation.

· Share reconciliation updates with branches highlighting short or excess TDS booked.

· Follow up with customers for pending TDS certificates, discrepancies, and related queries.

7. Process Improvement

· Contribute to continuous improvement of credit control processes.

· Support automation initiatives and strengthening of credit governance frameworks.

· Suggest best practices to improve collection efficiency and reduce overdue exposure.

Key Skills & Competencies

· Strong knowledge of Credit Control and Accounts Receivable

· Experience in Freight Forwarding / Logistics industry preferred

· ERP exposure (Logisys or similar systems)

· Strong analytical and MIS reporting skills

· Excellent coordination, communication, and follow-up skills

· Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and high-pressure situations
