Job Summary: The Craftsperson | Helper will support the production of handcrafted products, assisting in painting, assembling, cutting, finishing, packing, and detailing of handmade items. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, have a keen eye for detail, and are excited to contribute to unique, culturally significant creations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Crafting & Assembly Work: Assist in creating handmade items including miniature models (e.g., temples, houses, shops), decorative plaques, MDF cut-outs, and traditional dolls. Help in the cutting, shaping, gluing, sanding, and assembling of MDF, wood, clay, or other materials. Support in preparation of craft bases for painting or embellishment. 2. Painting & Decoration: Participate in base painting, touch-ups, and detailing of dolls, decor elements, and structures. Add finishing touches like ornaments, jewelry, stickers, lace, beads, and other aesthetic accessories. Work on both traditional and contemporary color combinations based on design guidance. 3. Packing & Quality Check: Perform quality checks to ensure each product meets finish and durability standards. Safely pack products for storage or shipping, using bubble wraps, boxes, labels, and soft fillers. Assist in organizing and labeling inventory efficiently. 4. Workshop Assistance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the crafting workspace. Clean brushes, tools, and work surfaces at the end of the day. Refill materials (like glue, paints, pins, tapes) and notify when stock is low. 5. Event & Exhibition Preparation: Assist in setting up display units for exhibitions, Navaratri Golu sales, and craft stalls. Help arrange items for photography or marketing shoots when required. Required Skills & Experience: Essential: Willingness to learn handmade craft work. Ability to work patiently with hands on small, delicate items. Attention to detail and appreciation for traditional Indian crafts. Good hand-eye coordination. Basic understanding of tools like scissors, cutters, glue guns, sandpaper, brushes. Preferred (but not mandatory): Previous experience in handcrafts, doll making, painting, wood/MDF decor, or related fields. Experience working in workshops or creative art environments. Understanding of Indian cultural art forms like Golu, Pichwai, temple art, Tanjore style, etc. Qualifications: No formal education required. 10th pass, 12th pass, or diploma holders are welcome. Self-taught artists or homemakers with a craft background encouraged to apply. Personality Traits We’re Looking For: Patience and dedication in detailed work. Working Hours & Schedule: Full-time: 9 AM – 7 PM (Monday to Saturday) Part-time/Flexible roles available for women, men or students. Overtime/Extended hours during peak seasons like Navaratri or Diwali may be required (with overtime pay). Location: Workshop located in [Coimbatore] – applicants should be local or willing to relocate. Salary & Benefits: Monthly Salary: ₹6,000 – ₹15,000 (based on skill level and experience) Incentives & Bonuses for meeting production targets or special projects.
