CPU RTL Micro architect Design - Principal

As a CPU Micro-architecture and RTL Design Engineer at Qualcomm India Private Limited, you will play a crucial role in developing RTL for high-performance, low-power devices. You will collaborate closely with chip architects to conceptualize the micro-architecture and contribute to the architecture and product definition throughout the product life-cycle. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Performance exploration:** Collaborate with the CPU modeling team to explore high-performance strategies. - **Microarchitecture development and specification:** Conduct high-level architectural exploration, micro-architectural research, and detailed specification. - **RTL ownership:** Develop, assess, and refine RTL design to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals. - **Functional verification support:** Assist the design verification team in executing the functional verification strategy. - **Performance verification support:** Verify that the RTL design aligns with performance goals. - **Design delivery:** Work with a multi-functional engineering team to implement and validate physical design in terms of timing, area, reliability, testability, and power. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Thorough knowledge of microprocessor architecture, with expertise in areas such as instruction fetch, decode, branch prediction, instruction scheduling, register renaming, etc. - Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL, experience with simulators, and waveform debugging tools. - Understanding of logic design principles, timing, power implications, low power microarchitecture techniques, and high-performance techniques. - Experience with scripting languages like Perl or Python. **Qualification Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of Hardware Engineering experience. OR - Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of Hardware Engineering experience. OR - PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of Hardware Engineering experience.
