About the Role

The Construction Manager will oversee the planning and execution of infrastructure projects across Saraswati Vidya Academy's campuses in multiple states. The role involves managing architects, contractors, consultants and internal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective and quality delivery of projects, while keeping management informed about progress, risks and challenges.

Key Responsibilities & Competencies

• Portfolio Strategy, Capacity Planning & Multi-State Delivery: Plan and oversee multiple concurrent projects across states, ensuring effective resource allocation and timely delivery.
• Technical Execution, Contractor Management & Quality: Drive construction execution, contractor performance, technical coordination and quality assurance.
• Scope, Schedule, Commercial & Financial Management: Ensure effective control of project scope, timelines, budgets, costs and contractual obligations.
• Documentation, Governance & Audit Readiness: Maintain robust project documentation, reporting, compliance and governance systems.
• Team Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination: Lead project managers, site engineers, consultants and contractors while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills

Required Candidate Profile

• Experience: 8–10 years in construction project management, with hands-on experience managing multiple projects across locations.
• Project Ownership: Proven ability to manage end-to-end project delivery, including cost, schedule, quality, contractors and handover.
• Educational Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management. Civil Engineering preferred.
• Industry Experience: Experience in PMC/client-side project management, institutional or commercial construction, fit-outs, refurbishment or multi-site CAPEX projects.
• Technical & Commercial Skills: Strong knowledge of BOQs, tendering, measurements, contracts, MEP coordination, quality control, risk and EHS.
• Project Management Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project or equivalent tools; willingness to use Zoho Projects and digital dashboards.
• Team & Stakeholder Management: Experience leading Project Managers, architects, consultants, contractors and vendors.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively across India and work at rural and urban project locations.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

The following will be an added advantage but are not mandatory:

• PMP, PRINCE2, NICMAR, RICS or equivalent professional certification.
• Prior experience in school infrastructure, institutional projects, CSR-funded projects or public-sector implementation programmes.
