Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Manager Mechanical Machine Build (Automated Special Purpose Machinery) to lead the design, build, and integration of mechanical systems for automation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical assembly and precision engineering, combined with leadership capabilities to drive teams, manage vendors, and deliver high-quality automated machinery that aligns with Cogents vision of enhancing productivity. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Build & Integration Lead the end-to-end build of automated special purpose machinery from mechanical assembly to customer-ready delivery. Review and interpret 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs to plan assembly activities. Supervise sub-assembly, machine alignment, and integration with automation and controls teams. Ensure precision assembly of components including motion systems, gear drives, actuators, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Project Execution & Leadership Develop and monitor assembly schedules, resource allocation, and manpower planning. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians to achieve project goals. Coordinate closely with design, procurement, and automation teams for smooth execution. Monitor project timelines, cost adherence, and quality KPIs. Quality Commissioning Conduct quality checks and functional validation during and after assembly. Lead factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) with customers. Ensure safe and efficient installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites. Continuous Improvement & Value Creation Drive initiatives for cost optimization, build efficiency, and standardization. Work with design and R&D teams on DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly). Promote automation solutions that reduce monotonous tasks and improve customer productivity. Qualifications & Experience B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 810 years of experience in mechanical assembly/build of automated special purpose machinery, automation equipment, or capital machinery. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, motion control, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics integration. Hands-on experience in precision alignment, tolerance management, and machine build processes. Exposure to Automation systems and mechatronics (preferred). Proven track record of leading shop-floor teams and cross-functional collaboration. Ensure precision assembly of components including motion systems, gear drives, actuators, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
