Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and creative BIW Surfacing Design Engineer to join our automotive product development team in Pune. The primary responsibility will be creating and refining high-quality, Class-A and Class-B free-form surfaces for Body-in-White (BIW) components, ensuring aesthetic intent is maintained while meeting structural, functional, and manufacturing requirements. Proficiency in advanced surfacing modules of PTC Creo is mandatory. Key Responsibilities: 3D Surfacing & Modeling: Design and develop complex 3D parametric and free-form surfaces for BIW structural components (e.g., body side panels, roof, floor, pillars, closure inners/outers) using advanced tools in PTC Creo (including ISDX/Style and Freestyle) . Concept to Production: Translate aesthetic and package data (2D master sections, design sketches, or scan data) into robust 3D surface models and detailed solid geometry for sheet metal stamping components. Surface Quality: Ensure all created surfaces meet high-quality standards (G0, G1, G2, G3 continuity) to ensure aesthetic appeal and smooth transition for downstream tooling and manufacturing. Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Work closely with tooling, CAE, and manufacturing teams to ensure the design is feasible for sheet metal stamping, welding, and assembly processes. Vehicle Integration & Packaging: Support vehicle integration and packaging studies, check for clearances, and incorporate interfaces for surrounding components. 2D Documentation: Create and release detailed 2D engineering drawings with annotations, adhering to internal and industry drafting standards. GD&T and Tolerance Analysis: Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and support tolerance stack-up analysis to guarantee proper component fit and function. Data Management: Manage CAD data, part versions, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Design Reviews: Actively participate in design reviews and propose solutions to design and feasibility challenges. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Production Engineering. Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in BIW (Body-in-White) design and surfacing within the automotive industry. Technical Skills (Must-Have): Expert-level proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric for both solid and advanced surface modeling. Demonstrated experience in creating complex, high-quality 2D and 3D surfacing for sheet metal parts. Strong fundamental knowledge of automotive BIW structures and component functions. Good understanding of sheet metal stamping and fabrication processes. Proficiency in applying GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Wire Harness Design Engineer to join our team in Pune. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both 2D and 3D wire harness design, with strong hands-on experience using PTC Creo and Capital Harness Systems (CHS) . This role is crucial for developing robust, cost-effective, and manufacturable wiring harness designs for automotive products. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop 3D wire harness routing models and concepts within the product assembly environment using PTC Creo with the Cabling/Harness module. Create 2D manufacturing drawings and formboards for wiring harnesses using Capital Harness Systems (CHS) including bundle definitions, component placement, clip selection, and protective covering details. Generate detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs), wire lists, cut lists, and other essential manufacturing documentation from CHS/Creo data. Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to define electrical architecture, component placement, wire sizing, and protection schemes. Perform design calculations, including voltage drop and fuse sizing, to ensure the electrical system meets all functional and safety requirements. Conduct package studies, clearance checks, and interference analysis on the 3D harness models to ensure optimal routing and fitment in the vehicle/product. Utilize and maintain component libraries within the design tools (Creo and CHS). Participate in Design Review, DFMEA, and DVP&R activities. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience in wiring harness design , preferably in the Automotive (Commercial Vehicle, Off-Highway, or Passenger Vehicle), Aerospace, or Industrial Equipment domain. Technical Skills (Must-Have): Proficiency in 3D wire harness routing and modeling using PTC Creo (Cabling/Harness module) . Strong working knowledge of a dedicated 2D schematic and harness design software such as Capital Harness Systems (CHS) / Capital Logic . Solid understanding of electrical components (connectors, terminals, fuses, relays, splices, conduit, clips). Knowledge of wiring harness manufacturing processes and tooling. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication (written and verbal), and teamwork skills. Desired Skills (Good to Have): Familiarity with PLM systems like PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, or similar. Experience with vehicle electrical systems and architecture.
