Key Responsibilities: Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to ensure timely delivery of transformers. Coordinate with the planning and procurement departments to ensure all materials and components are available for production. Optimize production processes and reduce downtime by improving workflow and machine utilization. Supervision and Team Management: Supervise a team of production workers, technicians, and operators in the manufacturing process. Train, mentor, and evaluate employees to ensure they understand safety protocols, operational procedures, and quality standards. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members. Assign tasks based on the teams capabilities and ensure the team meets production targets. Quality Control and Safety: Ensure transformers meet the required industry specifications and standards. Conduct regular inspections of the production line and finished products to check for defects or deviations from the production plan. Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment. Investigate and resolve any quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Oversee the maintenance of production equipment to ensure machinery is in good working order and minimize unscheduled downtime. Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns or production line issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance with the engineering team. Ensure that all tools and machinery are calibrated and functioning according to specifications. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate production processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Work with the engineering and quality control teams to implement lean manufacturing techniques and process optimization initiatives. Inventory and Materials Management: Ensure that raw materials and components (e.g., copper, steel, insulating materials) are available as needed for the production process. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the materials management team to prevent shortages or excess stock. Keep track of material usage and report any discrepancies in consumption or waste. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production quantities, timelines, materials used, and downtime for auditing and reporting purposes. Prepare and submit regular production reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates, scrap rates, and downtime. Ensure that all documentation, including work orders, material receipts, and quality control checks, is completed and filed properly. Compliance and Regulatory Standards: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the manufacturing of transformers. Stay updated on industry regulations and standards, such as safety protocols, environmental concerns, and electrical safety regulations. Skills: Strong understanding of transformer manufacturing processes (e.g., winding, insulation, testing, etc.). Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (ISO, etc.). Strong leadership and communication skills. Problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure. Proficiency in production planning and management software. Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance in the manufacturing industry. Work Environment: The job typically involves working in a manufacturing facility, where supervisors oversee production lines, machines, and operators. May require working in shifts (morning, afternoon, or night shifts) depending on production requirements.
