Determine the type of surgery that is needed, and the nurses, anesthesiologists, specialists, and others who will be required 2. Decide whether surgery is warranted, based on the patients records, tests, and examinations 3. Perform examinations to confirm that patients are strong enough to undergo surgery, explain the procedures, and discuss the risks involved 4. Requests necessary tests, and follow-up visits, and refers patients to specialists, as necessary 5. Schedule operations, coordinate the staff, plan the procedures 6. Perform operations, in accordance with accepted methods 7. Create and update patient records 8. Roles and Responsibilities Assess patients that enter the emergency room immediately and oversee emergency patient s recovery.Conduct follow-up visits to monitor the patient s condition.Request the appropriate medical tests and based on them, follow a treatment plan.Develop effective patient care plans.Refer patients to the appropriate specialists.Ensure that patients are stable before transferring them to the proper department for further evaluation.Provide instructions for discharge and any relevant paperwork.Maintain the patient s medical records.Coordinate with different ER departments to ensure patients receive the necessary treatment.
