About the Role

The Organic World is looking for a highly motivated Category Buyer - Packed Food to manage procurement, assortment planning, vendor relationships, and category performance for the Packed Food segment. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in FMCG, grocery retail, supermarket chains, or e-commerce food categories with a proven track record in driving sales, margins, and inventory efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Packed Food category, including staples, snacks, beverages, breakfast products, health foods, ready-to-eat products, and organic packaged products.
• Develop category strategies to achieve sales, margin, and growth targets.
• Identify and onboard new brands and suppliers to strengthen category assortment.
• Conduct regular market analysis on pricing, trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
• Negotiate commercial terms, margins, promotional support, and annual agreements with vendors.
• Plan and execute promotions, offers, and seasonal campaigns to drive category growth.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability while minimizing wastage and slow-moving inventory.
• Coordinate with stores, supply chain, merchandising, and marketing teams for category performance.
• Analyze category KPIs such as sales, margin, stock turn, sell-through, and vendor performance.
• Ensure timely product launches and availability across stores.
• Drive private label opportunities within the category wherever applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Category Buying, Procurement, or Merchandising within Retail, FMCG, Grocery, or Food sectors.
• Strong understanding of Packed Food products and market dynamics.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
• Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and category management tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Pay: ₹351,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
