Job Description: Cashier – Thekkekara Bagbazzar Location: Ettumanoor, Kottayam Department: Finance / Cash Counter Reports To: Store Manager / Accounts Head --- Role Overview The Cashier is responsible solely for handling customer payments against bills produced by the billing section. This role ensures safe, accurate, and efficient management of daily cash inflows while maintaining a professional and trustworthy experience at the payment counter. --- Key Responsibilities 1. Cash Collection & Receipting Collect cash/card/UPI payments from customers against bills issued by the billing team. Verify the bill amount with the payment tendered before accepting. Issue official receipts for every transaction. 2. Cash Handling & Safety Ensure proper counting and handling of cash. Maintain adequate change at the counter to avoid customer inconvenience. Prevent and immediately report any discrepancies in cash handling. Keep cash securely stored at all times. 3. Daily Accounting & Settlement Record all transactions accurately in the cash register/system. Reconcile collected cash with bills at the end of each day. Hand over daily cash collections to the Accounts Department / authorized person with proper acknowledgement. 4. Customer Service Greet customers politely and thank them for their payment. Clarify payment-related queries courteously (e.g., balance due, mode of payment). Direct customers back to the sales or service team if they have product or billing queries. 5. Compliance & Discipline Strictly follow company SOPs for cash handling. Maintain confidentiality of financial records. Ensure transparency and accountability in all cash transactions. Report any suspicious activity or discrepancies immediately to management. --- Required Skills & Qualities High integrity and trustworthiness in money handling. Accuracy and attention to detail in counting and recording. Ability to stay calm and courteous during peak hours. Basic knowledge of digital payment methods (UPI, card swipes, etc.). Strong discipline and adherence to process. --- Qualifications Minimum: Plus Two (Higher Secondary). Preferred: Commerce/Accounting background. Prior experience as a cashier or in money-handling roles is an advantage. --- Performance Metrics Zero cash shortages/excess in daily settlement. Accuracy in transaction recording. Customer satisfaction at the payment counter. Compliance with store’s cash handling SOPs.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
