Job description Job Title: Caretaker Location: Guntur, Andhra Pradesh Job Type: Full-Time Salary: ₹8,000 - ₹10,000 per month Benefits: One paid leave per month Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Caretaker to support children with speech and communication disorders in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with speech-language pathologists (SLPs), medical staff, and families to assist in the care, comfort, and communication needs of pediatric patients during their treatment and recovery. Key Responsibilities: Provide attentive, child-focused care to pediatric patients with speech, language, or communication disorders. Assist speech-language pathologists and healthcare providers during assessments, therapy sessions, and treatment routines. Encourage and support patients in practicing prescribed communication exercises, activities, and techniques. Help children with daily routines including feeding, dressing, hygiene, and emotional support, especially when communication challenges are present. Observe and report patient behaviors, responses to therapy, and any changes in communication abilities to the care team. Prepare and maintain a clean, child-friendly environment in therapy and patient areas. Engage children in age-appropriate play and communication-stimulating activities under therapist guidance. Provide reassurance and emotional support to patients and families during hospital stays and treatments. Assist with documentation and coordination of care under supervision of medical staff. Ensure safety and comfort of children at all times, following hospital policies and infection control protocols. Qualifications: 12th (Intermediate) Basic understanding of common pediatric communication disorders (e.g., speech delay, apraxia, autism spectrum disorder). Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including SLPs, nurses, and physicians. Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills. Patient, empathetic, and respectful demeanor, especially with nonverbal or behaviorally challenged children. Preferred Skills: Experience working in a pediatric hospital or clinical setting. Familiarity with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) tools or sign language is an asset.
