JOB DESCRIPTION Position: SAP Technical Analyst Department: Finance Operations Work Mode: Hybrid Location: Chennai Experience: 5+ years Reports to: Finance Delivery Lead Shift: US Hours (Late Night IST) Role Overview: This is a key role in a pivotal project responsible for stabilizing and streamlining SAP processes post-implementation. The incumbent will individually drive process optimization, ensure business continuity, and act as the bridge between business users and the technical team. The role involves primarily technical support, while also extending functional support as necessary. This would involve system configuration, technical troubleshooting, user support and infrastructure coordination etc. The candidate will have to analyze issues in detail, identify root causes and implement effective solutions while maintaining high standards of accuracy, timeliness and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Functional Support - Provide hands-on SAP functional support across P2P, R2R, and finance modules (AP, GL, MM). Validate data migration, vendor master, open POs, and invoice reconciliations between legacy and SAP systems. Coordinate Go-Live readiness, Hypercare, and post-stabilization support activities. Monitor daily transactions and ensure adherence to business rules and configured workflows. Serve as the first point of contact for end-user queries and troubleshoot functional issues. Support month-end close, data validation, and report accuracy checks. Technical Coordination - Collaborate with SAP technical and Basis teams for configuration, troubleshooting, and patch management. Monitor system performance, batch jobs, and integration points with third-party systems. Log and track incidents, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate fixes. Support security and authorization controls, backups, and transport management. Training & Documentation - Develop user guides, FAQs and quick reference materials. Conduct refresher training sessions for end-users and onboard new employees. Maintain updated SOPs, process documentation, and improvement logs. Process Optimization - Identify process gaps and recommend automation or simplification opportunities. Partner with business owners to streamline workflows and ensure compliance. Analyze recurring issues and implement preventive solutions. Skills & Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in Finance, Procurement, or SAP technical support roles. Strong understanding of SAP FI, MM and AP/GL modules. Proven expertise in post-implementation stabilization and user support. Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficient in Excel, SAP reporting, and incident tracking systems. Certification in SAP / CMA (preferred). Key Attributes: High attention to detail and process discipline. Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on root cause resolution. Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders. Excellent communication across business and technical audiences.
