Description
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Build and Release Engineer to join our team. As a Build and Release Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our software build and release processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth delivery of our software products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, and driving process improvements. Roles & Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain build scripts using tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab CI to automate the build, test, and deployment pipelines for multiple environments. Manage version control systems (e.g, Git, SVN) and ensure code integrity and proper branching strategies. Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software integration and deployment processes. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve build failures and deployment issues, providing timely solutions to development teams. Work closely with developers, QA teams, and system administrators to ensure smooth build and release operations and environment setup. Assist in packaging and preparing software for deployment, ensuring that the correct version of the code is pushed to production. Set up and maintain various build environments (e.g., development, staging, production) ensuring consistency across environments. Document build processes, release notes, and other key technical processes to ensure knowledge sharing within the team. Monitor the performance of build processes and optimize the overall build and deployment workflow for speed and efficiency. Preferred candidate profile:- Minimum 3 years of experience in build and release engineering or a similar role in software development or DevOps. Proficiency with build tools such as Jenkins or similar. Experience with Git, SVN, or other version control systems and understanding of branching strategies (GitFlow, etc.). Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, CircleCI, etc. Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python or to automate build, deployment, and integration tasks. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve build and deployment issues efficiently. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Comfortable working with both Linux and Windows-based environments.
