Role & responsibilities Perform Zero base cost estimation for mechanical parts including forging, casting, sheet metal, and machined components , Brief knowledge on rubber process will be value added. Respond timely to RFQ/enquiry from customers & provide optimal prices to management. Analyse engineering drawings and specifications to relate them to cost factors. Provide input for cost reduction strategies and assist in the identification of cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality. Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring all costing information is current and accurate. Work closely with design, process engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align costing with product specifications. Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management, offering recommendations for improvements. To lead cost planning and profit improvement activities for reducing the part cost level and maintain optimal profit level. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in product Costing. Experience with SAP and advanced proficiency in Excel, PPT for cost modelling, analysis, and reporting. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including forging, casting, sheet metal forming, machining & rubber moulding. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical specifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
