Branch Credit Manager - Solar

Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

1. Credit Appraisal & Underwriting

• Evaluate solar loan applications for residential, commercial, industrial, and MSME customers, as applicable.
• Assess customer repayment capacity, income, banking, credit bureau reports, existing obligations, and financial statements.
• Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers seeking rooftop solar financing.
• Assess project cost, loan eligibility, repayment structure, and financing requirements.
• Review quotations, invoices, vendor details, installation plans, and relevant technical documents.

2. Credit Risk Management

• Identify financial, borrower, vendor, project execution, and collateral-related risks.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, delegated authority, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Recommend appropriate credit limits, loan amounts, and repayment terms.
• Monitor early warning signals, overdue accounts, and portfolio quality.

3. Documentation & Disbursement

• Verify KYC, income documents, banking records, bureau reports, and loan documentation.
• Coordinate with sales, operations, legal, technical, and disbursement teams.
• Ensure fulfilment of pre-disbursement conditions before loan release.
• Maintain complete credit appraisal notes, sanction records, and audit trails.

4. Portfolio Monitoring

• Monitor delinquency, overdue accounts, bounce rates, and early-stage collection performance.
• Review the performance of sanctioned solar loan portfolios.
• Support corrective actions for stressed accounts and deviations from credit policy.
• Ensure timely escalation of high-risk cases.

5. Team & Stakeholder Management

• Guide branch credit executives and ensure consistent underwriting standards.
• Coordinate with branch sales teams to achieve turnaround time (TAT) targets without compromising credit quality.
• Support internal audits, credit reviews, and process improvements.
• Provide regular MIS on sanctions, rejections, pending cases, TAT, and portfolio quality.
