Role Overview We are a performance-driven digital marketing company (20–30 employees) on the cusp of rapid expansion to a 50+ person team. We seek a Chief Technology Officer (Growth Systems) / Head of Growth Systems to spearhead our technology and marketing systems in this growth phase. This dual-role executive position demands strategic vision and hands-on leadership to build the core systems that will scale our marketing performance. As the CTO (Growth Systems), you will define and implement the tech roadmap, aligning it with our aggressive growth targets and driving innovation across marketing, sales, and analytics functions. This is a 100% on-site, in-office role with mandatory relocation. We believe being co-located enables real-time collaboration, faster decision-making, and a stronger team culture, critical factors for rapid growth. (Relocation assistance will be provided to ensure a smooth transition for the right candidate.) Key Responsibilities Technology & Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a technology strategy that fuels marketing growth and efficiency. Align tech initiatives with business goals to drive revenue and performance improvements. MarTech Stack Ownership: Architect and own our end-to-end marketing technology stack , integrating homegrown and third-party solutions. This includes selecting and implementing tools for CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and advertising platforms to optimize campaign execution. Ensure all systems (e.g. customer data, ad platforms, analytics dashboards) are integrated into a single source of truth for data-driven decisions. Automation & Optimization: Leverage technology to automate marketing workflows and lead funnels , improving conversion and cost-efficiency. Identify opportunities to build or deploy software tools that scale our demand generation efforts. Continuously optimize digital funnels and performance metrics through tech interventions (attribution systems, A/B testing frameworks, etc.). Team Building & Leadership: Build and lead a high-performance “Growth Systems” team of engineers, analysts, and marketers. Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent, growing the team in line with company expansion while upholding high quality standards. Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between technology and business. Work closely with marketing, sales, data analytics, and creative teams to ensure technology solutions meet cross-functional needs . Translate marketing objectives into technical requirements and vice versa, enabling faster go-to-market execution. Technical Execution & Governance: Provide hands-on technical leadership in the early stages – from setting up infrastructure and dashboards to writing or reviewing code for critical projects. Establish best practices for software development, data management, and security . Ensure the reliability, scalability, and compliance of all systems as we handle growing volumes of campaign and customer data. Roadmap & Stakeholder Management: Own the technology roadmap for growth , prioritizing projects and resources that yield the highest business impact. Communicate progress, insights, and risks to the leadership team and key stakeholders. Manage vendor relationships and negotiations for any outsourced tools or services, ensuring cost-effective procurement and alignment with our needs. Qualifications & Experience Proven Experience: 10+ years of experience in technology roles with a track record of driving growth through tech innovation . Prior roles could include CTO, Engineering Lead, Head of Marketing Technology, or similar senior technical leadership in a high-growth environment . Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of digital marketing and advertising ecosystems , you are familiar with performance marketing funnels, attribution models, and marketing KPIs. Experience with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, analytics tools, and ad-tech integrations is highly desirable (e.g. Salesforce/HubSpot CRM, Marketo/HubSpot Marketing Automation, Google Analytics/Looker Studio , etc.). Technical Skills: Deep expertise in software development and system architecture, especially for data-intensive and marketing-centric systems . Proficiency in modern programming/scripting languages and cloud platforms. Ability to evaluate build vs buy decisions and integrate APIs and data sources seamlessly. Leadership & Team Building: Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing teams . Skilled in hiring talent and scaling teams from scratch. A mentor mindset with excellent people management and communication skills is a must. Strategic Vision: Big-picture thinker who can align technology roadmaps with business strategy. Adept at prioritizing initiatives and making decisions that balance short-term wins with long-term scalability. Stakeholder Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Comfortable collaborating with C-level executives and non-technical teams, translating technical concepts into business value. Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Strong academic and professional credentials that establish credibility in both tech and business discussions. Compensation & Benefits Market-Aligned CTC: We offer a competitive Total Cost to Company package structured with a significant fixed base salary and a performance-linked variable component. The fixed base will form roughly 60–70% of the total CTC (paid monthly), providing stable income. The variable component (approximately 30–40% of CTC) is tied to clear growth and performance KPIs and paid out quarterly upon achieving targets. (This structure ensures alignment with company goals while offering upside for high performance.) As a senior leader, your on-site presence will help shape a strong engineering and growth culture. Relocation Requirement: The selected candidate must be willing to relocate to join us on-site. Travel: Minimal travel is expected outside of relocation, the focus is to be at our office working with the team. Tech & Marketing Stack (What You’ll Work With) While you will have the autonomy to shape our future stack, below is a glimpse of the environment and tools you will likely oversee and evolve: Advertising & Analytics: Multi-channel ad platforms (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.) and analytics tools like Google Analytics 4 for campaign performance tracking. Experience in implementing robust tracking (pixels, conversion APIs) and attribution systems is key. Data Infrastructure: Marketing and sales databases (building a data warehouse for campaign and customer data), dashboards and BI tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau ) for real-time performance visualization. You’ll ensure data flows are integrated and accurate across systems (from ad clicks to CRM entries) for end-to-end insight. CRM & Automation: A CRM system (such as Salesforce or HubSpot) to manage leads and sales pipelines, and a marketing automation platform for lead nurturing, email marketing, and campaign automation (e.g. HubSpot Marketing Hub, Marketo). Part of your role will be to evaluate, implement, and integrate these platforms to work in unison, improving our marketing ROI. Emerging Tech: Opportunity to leverage AI and machine learning in marketing (for predictive analytics, personalization, or automating campaign optimizations) as we scale.
