The Accounts Head will be responsible for complete financial oversight of the school, ensuring accurate accounting, timely fee collection, statutory compliance, and robust financial controls. The role demands end-to-end ownership of school finances, from daily transactions to strategic financial reporting and audits. --- Key Responsibilities 1. Fee Collection & Revenue Management * Oversee **student fee collection**, reconciliation, and monitoring of outstanding dues * Ensure proper accounting of fees across modes (cash, cheque, online portals, bank transfers) * Prepare and track **fee demand, receipts, concessions, refunds, and waivers** * Coordinate with administration for defaulters and structured follow-ups * Ensure accuracy of student-wise and class-wise fee records --- 2. Accounting & Bookkeeping * Maintain **complete books of accounts** including cash book, bank book, ledgers, journals * Ensure accurate recording of all income, expenses, assets, and liabilities * Supervise daily accounting entries and vouchers * Monitor petty cash and operational expenses * Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal policies --- 3. Statutory & Compliance Management * Ensure **timely payment and filing** of all statutory dues, including but not limited to: * GST * TDS (salary & vendor-related) * PF, ESI, Professional Tax * Income Tax compliance (returns, assessments, notices) * Maintain compliance with education department financial regulations * Handle audits, assessments, and liaison with statutory authorities --- 4. Payroll & Salary Processing * Oversee **monthly payroll processing** for teaching and non-teaching staff * Ensure accurate computation of salaries, deductions, and statutory contributions * Manage payslips, salary registers, and payroll-related compliance filings * Address employee payroll queries professionally --- 5. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Control * Prepare and monitor **annual budgets** for the school * Track actuals vs budget and highlight variances to management * Advise management on cost control, fund utilisation, and financial efficiency * Ensure optimal cash flow management --- 6. Reporting & Management Information System (MIS) * Prepare **monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports** * Present clear MIS reports on fee collections, expenses, outstanding dues, and cash flow * Support management in decision-making through accurate financial insights --- 7.
