Position Overview
Skylark Information Technologies Private Limited is seeking an experienced Onsite Biometric Support Engineer for the VIT Bhopal campus. The engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting biometric access control and attendance systems (totaling 70 units across Hikvision, ESSL, and Time Office/TOP platforms). The role encompasses comprehensive hardware and software troubleshooting, device synchronization, user enrollment management, spare parts replacement, and direct coordination with OEM/B2B support vendors to ensure high system availability.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
A. Hardware Troubleshooting & B2B Vendor Management
- Hardware Maintenance: Conduct routine and fault-based hardware diagnostics on biometric terminals (fingerprint, face recognition, RFID card readers, power supply units, sensors, and communication ports).
- B2B Vendor Coordination: Manage hardware spare parts replacements (batteries, displays, sensors, power adapters, locks) and coordinate directly with OEM and B2B support vendors (Hikvision, eSSL, TimeOffice) for warranty claims, RMA processing, and onsite technical support.
- Inventory Control: Maintain spare parts inventory tracking, defective parts logging, and repair status reports.
B. Software & Database Administration
- Software Administration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot biometric attendance management software (e.g., eSSL eTimeTrackLite, Hik-Central, TimeOffice) and underlying SQL/Access databases.
- Data & Firmware Management: Manage real-time data synchronization, device communication over TCP/IP, firmware updates, and user template backups.
- Software Triage: Troubleshoot synchronization failures, log retrieval errors, and API connectivity issues between biometric terminals and central servers.
C. User Enrollment, Operations & Support
- User Enrollment: Oversee user database management, including staff/student enrollment (fingerprint/face/card mapping), department categorization, and access permission settings.
- Operational Support: Provide daily operational support, handle access denial issues, resolve attendance logging discrepancies, and generate routine attendance/access reports.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive configuration documentation, network IP mappings, and SLA incident logs.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Experience: Minimum 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in biometric access control systems, attendance hardware maintenance, and IT field support.
- Hardware Expertise: Proven technical expertise in troubleshooting Hikvision, eSSL, and TimeOffice/TOP biometric hardware and accessories.
- Vendor Management: Strong experience interacting with B2B OEM support channels and managing warranty/spare parts lifecycles.
- Software & Networking: Proficiency in attendance management software, TCP/IP networking configuration for security devices, and database maintenance.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, punctuality, and strong interpersonal communication for user-facing campus support.

- Work Location: VIT Bhopal University Campus, Madhya Pradesh (Onsite Deployment).
- Reporting To: Reporting directly to the FMS Project Manager / Service Delivery Head, Skylark Information Technologies Private Limited.
