Job Description: Bioinformatics Scientist Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Bioinformatics Scientist to analyze and interpret complex biological data. The ideal candidate will have expertise in computational biology, data analytics, and software development, with a strong understanding of genetics, genomics, and molecular biology. Key Responsibilities: • Analyze large-scale biological datasets, including genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data. • Develop and apply computational algorithms, pipelines, and machine learning models for data processing. • Collaborate with biologists, geneticists, and other researchers to interpret findings and derive biological insights. • Maintain and optimize bioinformatics tools, databases, and software solutions. • Conduct statistical analysis and visualization of biological data. • Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and presentations. • Stay updated with advancements in bioinformatics, genomics, and computational biology. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelors/ Master’s, in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or a related field. • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Perl, or Java. • Experience with bioinformatics tools and platforms ( BLAST, GATK, Bioconductor, Galaxy). • Knowledge of databases such as NCBI, Ensembl, and UCSC Genome Browser. • Strong understanding of statistics, machine learning, and data visualization techniques. • Ability to work with cloud computing and high-performance computing environments. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis. • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in genomics. • Background in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biotech industries.
