Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and customer-friendly Billing & Cashier professional to handle restaurant billing, cash transactions, payment processing, and daily cash reconciliation. The candidate will ensure accurate billing, smooth payment operations, and excellent customer service while maintaining financial accuracy and transparency.
Key Responsibilities
Billing & Order Management
- Generate accurate bills for dine-in, takeaway, and online orders.
- Enter food and beverage orders into the restaurant POS (Point of Sale) system.
- Verify order details, quantities, prices, discounts, and applicable taxes.
- Coordinate with service staff and kitchen teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Process cancellations, refunds, and bill modifications with proper authorization.
Cash & Payment Handling
- Collect payments through cash, UPI, debit/credit cards, and other approved payment methods.
- Provide accurate change and issue bills or receipts to customers.
- Maintain proper cash handling procedures and safeguard cash collections.
- Verify digital payment confirmations before closing transactions.
- Maintain records of cash, card, UPI, and other payment transactions.
Daily Cash Reconciliation
- Reconcile daily sales with cash collected and digital payment reports.
- Prepare shift-wise and end-of-day cash reports.
- Report cash shortages, excess amounts, and billing discrepancies to the manager.
- Ensure timely handover of cash and transaction records to the authorized person.
- Maintain proper documentation of bills, receipts, and payment records.
Customer Service
- Greet customers politely and handle billing-related queries professionally.
- Resolve payment issues promptly and escalate complaints when necessary.
- Maintain a courteous and professional approach during busy restaurant hours.
- Support smooth customer checkout and contribute to a positive dining experience.
Compliance & Operational Support
- Follow company policies, cash handling procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.
- Ensure the billing counter and equipment remain clean and organized.
- Support the restaurant team during peak hours and assist with other operational duties as assigned.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum: 12th Pass / Higher Secondary.
- Preferred: Diploma or degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience
- Freshers with good numerical ability and communication skills may apply.
Required Skills
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in POS billing systems.
- Good numerical and calculation skills.
- Knowledge of cash handling and daily cash reconciliation.
- Familiarity with UPI, card payments, and digital transactions.
- Basic knowledge of GST invoices and restaurant billing procedures.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Honesty, integrity, attention to detail, and time management.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Work location: Restaurant premises.
- Working hours: As per the restaurant's shift schedule.
- Must be available to work during weekends, public holidays, and peak business hours as required.
