Company Description BHS is the E Commerce Tech division of Homescapes, a United Kingdom based online retail company. It was established in 2012 to support inhouse technology needs of Homescapes UK and European operations with a vision of extending its services to other global ecommerce players. Our overseas offices are in Birmingham (United Kingdom) and Dusseldorf (Germany) About Job: We are hiring a skilled Website Manager to oversee the development, performance, and optimisation of our Magento 2 ecommerce websites and WordPress sites. The candidate will coordinate closely with developers and designers, handle content updates internally (to reduce development cost), and ensure smooth technical operations—including hosting, server environment, CDN, and security layers. This is a multifunction role ideal for someone who has a good understanding of technical website management needs. Key Responsibilities: Website Management (Magento 2 & WordPress)To be able to understand and make changes with help of Magento Developers while ensuring that the cost of developing is minimised, the tasks could include: Monitor the performance and operations of Magento 2 websites and WordPress blogs. Update and manage CMS pages, static blocks, banners, and on-site content independently . Ensure correct formatting, responsiveness, and SEO-friendly structure of the updated or created pages. 2. Project Management & Team Coordination: This role involves communicating and coordinating between Magento Development team and needs clear understanding and communication abilities. These activities include : Communicate requirements clearly to developers and designers. Create, track, and manage tasks through project management tools. Review delivered work and ensure it matches the brief. Manage release cycles and coordinate staging → production deployments. 3. Server, Hosting & Infrastructure Knowledge: Role requires understanding of server hosting and firewall systems, to be able to communicate with the hosting and firewall security providers. And sometimes, coordinating between them and the developers. Basic understanding of hosting environments (cPanel, Plesk, VPS, Cloud hosting). Familiarity with firewall systems (e.g. Sucuri, Cloudflare) and whitelisting/blacklisting procedures. Coordinate with hosting providers for issues like downtime, resource usage, and server-side errors. Manage CDN settings (Cloudflare/others) and ensure correct caching rules. Understand SSL, DNS records, redirects, and email routing etc. 4. Performance Optimisation: Role involves making sure the website performs optimally, and has the experience to do the following: Identify and suggest improvements for page speed, Core Web Vitals, and caching. Work with developers to optimise JS, CSS, images, and server responses. Monitor and troubleshoot slow queries, heavy pages, or high CPU usage. Evaluate extensions impacting performance. 5. QA, Testing & Monitoring Test all new features, UI updates, bug fixes, and content changes. Check cross-browser/device compatibility. Run regular checks for broken links, 404 errors, redirects, and website usability. Required Qualifications and Technical Skills Strong knowledge of Magento 2 Admin (CMS blocks, Page Builder, attributes, catalogue management). Practical handling of WordPress (plugins, pages, blog management). Working knowledge of: HTML/CSS basics Hosting servers & cPanel etc. CDN (Cloudflare) Firewalls (Sucuri/Cloudflare) Page speed optimisation Familiarity with caching, indexing, static content deployment concepts. Soft Skills Good communication and coordination abilities. Well organised for managing multiple tasks. Eye for detail and ability to follow routines with discipline. Ability to translate business needs into technical briefs. Experience 3+ years managing ecommerce websites (Magento preferred). Experience with WordPress content management. Exposure to server/CDN/firewall configuration and debugging. Experience collaborating with developers and designers.
