Role & responsibilities Lead end-to-end payroll processing for India operations (monthly payroll, full and final settlements, bonuses, incentives, etc.). Ensure compliance with Indian statutory laws: Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), Income Tax (TDS), and other applicable acts. Validate payroll inputs (attendance, leaves, new joinees, exits, reimbursements) and ensure data accuracy. Coordinate with HR, Finance, and external vendors for seamless payroll execution. Manage and file monthly/quarterly/annual statutory returns (EPF, ESIC, TDS, etc.). Respond to employee queries related to salary, tax deductions, payslips, etc. Manage audits, including statutory audits and internal compliance checks. Prepare monthly payroll reports, dashboards, and MIS for internal stakeholders. Drive payroll process improvements and automation initiatives. Stay up to date with labour laws, tax regulations, and compliance changes in India. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. 5–7 years of relevant payroll experience with at least 1–2 years in a payroll lead or senior payroll executive role. Hands-on experience with Indian payroll software (e.g., Darwinbox, SAP, Keka, etc.). Strong knowledge of Indian statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, LWF). Proficient in MS Excel Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and confidentiality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience managing payroll for 2000+ employees preferred.
