Backend Engineer, Mid Office Systems

As a Backend Engineer within the Mid Office Systems team, your primary responsibility will involve contributing to the development and upkeep of essential back-end systems crucial for booking management. Your tasks will include automating processes, building reliable back-end services, and integrating systems to enhance operational efficiency and support Customer Support functions. Your key responsibilities will revolve around automating manual processes to enhance efficiency and reduce Customer Support workload, designing and implementing back-end services to boost the reliability and maintainability of Mid Office systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to effectively address customer needs, integrating Mid Office systems with other Wego systems, and ensuring code quality, maintainability, and testing practices are up to high standards. To excel in this role, you should possess: - 6+ years of experience in developing and maintaining back-end applications in a production environment. - At least 4 years of experience working with back-end applications written in Node.js. - Proficiency in a back-end programming language like Java or Node.js. - Strong understanding of database technologies, especially RDBMS. - Familiarity with CI/CD practices and a focus on high-quality releases. - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP. Additionally, having strong problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach, emphasizing frequent, high-quality releases, and short feedback loops would be advantageous for this role.,
