PCB Hardware Engineer - KiCAD navi mumbai, maharashtra, india 3 - 4 years None Not disclosed On-site Full Time

Are you passionate about designing products while solving tough hardware challenges? Do you care about schematic optimization, component selection, placement and tight routing? If so, our stealth startup wants you! We’re developing the fastest AC chargers for electric vehicles in Europe and the US, and we’re looking for a PCB Hardware Engineer with 3-4 years of KiCAD experience to help smoothen the transition to electric mobility. Why join us? Innovative Environment: Be part of a team that’s redefining the habit of eV charging. Growth Opportunities: Work with a team that values continuous learning and mentorship. Hands-On Experience: Get involved in every aspect of product development, from design to testing, to iteration, to final deployment. Expert Team: Join a small, dedicated team of engineers where the founder takes a hand-on approach to design, and architecture. Build for Scale: Our initial hardware is working well. Your mission will be to refine, ruggedize, and prepare it for mass production, certification, and global deployment. Kaizen mindset: C ontinuous improvement is key. Every PCB iteration significantly improves the reliability, manufacturability, or usability of the charger. What You’ll Do: Design & Develop: Work on our tested designs and find ways to improve component selection and schematic simplification. Our engineers write bare-metal programs in C using the native development framework to get the most out of the hardware. Build & Test: Design schematics in KiCAD, design PCB layout, try multiple configurations of placement and get the routing perfectly tight to miniaturise the board. Spatial Visualization: Imagine the PCB with components and wires in 3D. Work with Industrial designers. PCB bring-up: get hands-on with the PCB, soldering, simulation, and physical testing. Innovate in IoT: Develop WiFi and Bluetooth stacks with your peers to enable cutting-edge telemetry and billing solutions. Lead & Collaborate: Firmware and electrical engineers will be your coworkers. We each share our expertise and work together to bring our vision to life. What We’re Looking For: Experience: 3-4 years of professional experience designing, building, and shipping hardware products. PCB Expertise: Strong proficiency with KiCAD for schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout. Very adept at PCB design skills and shortcuts. Experience with similar tools like Altium is also valuable. Design & D ebugging Skills: EMC/EMI mitigation. High current tracks that don't overheat. Comfortable with the validation process using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment. Hands-On Skills: Proven experience with board bring-up, soldering (SMD/through-hole), and debugging complex hardware issues. You are comfortable in a lab environment and enjoy making things work. Ownership Mindset: A proactive problem-solver who communicates clearly and works effectively with firmware and mechanical engineers. Rule checks before fabrication: Clearing Electrical Rules Check (ERC) and Design Rules Check (DRC) to ensure our schematics are logically sound and our PCB layouts are optimized for reliable, high-volume manufacturing. Right Attitude: A problem-solver who’s eager do what it takes to bring the product to life. Willingness to take on any task to innovate and grow the company. If you're ready to make an impact and be part of something big, we'd love to hear from you! Apply at pcb.design@leaport.com and help us drive the future of electric vehicle charging.
